Baroque style

Quite a few paintings on the ceiling and enough gold leaf to satisfy without being over the top. Free admission here too.

Neumuenster : Baroque on the west... Romanesque on the east...
Jan. 2020 • Family
Next, we walked up to the grand Baroque facade of the Neumünster Collegiate Church ‘Kollegiatstift Neumünster’ in German, which is wedged in between two houses on Kürschnerhof street in the city centre of Würzburg...

The church was built by St. Adalbero, Bishop of Würzburg in 1060 in Romanesque style with a nave and aisles and two choirs. Renovations with expansion of the eastern section took place between 1180 to 1250, wherein, the Romanesque west choir was demolished. Later, the west facade and the interiors were built in Baroque style

The church was damaged during the Bombing of Würzburg in World War II, but it was subsequently restored...

Amazing!
Oct. 2019 • Couples
Beautiful architecture, with stunning colours. Right in the middle of the city centre, very easy to get to. Definitely recommend taking a walk by here if you're returning to get a train, as it is on the way to the station.

Very serene
Nov. 2019 • Couples
I love this church, it is very serene. It is both pleasing to the eyes (aesthetic and architecture) and the soul (you can really pray in complete silence) .

A modern influence
Oct. 2019 • Couples
This church is delightful combining the traditional with modern influences. I especially loved the colourful modern paintings high up on the inner sides of the church. It's something you don't often see.

STUNNING ARCHITECTURE

Neumuenster Cathedral is quite stunning
The architecture dating back to the 11TH century needs to be seen - a mixture but all is quite breathtaking
Definitely worth visiting

White decor and interesting mix of paintings
Jul. 2019 • Family
Very nice cathedral with a lot of white decor and an interesting mix of old style and impressionistic painting - unlike any other church or cathedral I've been in. Nice architecture. Close to several other tourist sites, so easy to walk to.

est church in Wurzburg
Apr. 2019 • Friends
There are several nice churches in the city but this one with its ornate altars and baroque decoration is the best of the lot. Take the time to visit the interior and you won't be disappointed

Magnificent Church
May 2019 • Friends
The Neumünster Church is rich in history, dating back to 1065. Over the years it has experienced additions, damages, and restorations. The crypt houses the remains of Saint Kilian, an Irish-Scottish missionary who, along with two companions, were killed on the site for their religious convictions. This church is well worth visiting while in Wurzburg.

Huge church behind small façade.
Mar. 2019 • Couples
This church is old, original parts were built 1065. After 100 hundred years it was extended and renovated. 1711-16 the façade was built in Baroque style. Church was badly damaged in 1945 and repaired 1952. Nowadays church slightly disappears in the row of houses.
The church was built at the place where St Kilian was killed and buried, you can see plate on the floor. The interior is highly decorated and takes time to observe all tiny details. There are several layers and areas in the church. Underneath the main entrance, there is small church and under the altar there is another one. So basically you have three churches in one. I only wonder how much sweat and blood it has cost to build this church, not to mention money.
Highly recommended.
