Okay, I have about 300 photo from this visit to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, but I will just post one, because everybody who walks the walls has the same views and therefore the same pictures. That is not to say that you won't take those...More

If you visit Rothenburg you can't miss this walk. It's completely covered so you don't need good weather. It' a very interesting walk around this amazing little city. From my opinion the town walks of Nördlingen are just a little more nice than this. Just...More

The walk along the town walls is fun and the views of the town are great. Do not go up if you expect to be looking out of the walls. The view is mostly of the town and the walls. There is a tower, Roder...More

The stairs leading up to the walls are narrow and seem high (according to my husband who is afraid of heights). However once you are at the top, you really get a view of the town, and it is a wonderful thing! I loved every...More

Did not walk far along the town wall because my wife was unable to handle to ancient steps but did enough to get the feel that the old soldiers must have had, except we looked out over BMW's and Volkswagen's. Highly recommended.

If you take a trip into the old town, don't miss a walk along the surrounding wall. It can be a little precarious climbing up the stairs but the view is well worth it. There are also several places around the town where you can...More

We took the complete tour around the walls early in the morning, and this is highly recommended as we were almost alone. Which is so much nicer than walking in line later in the day.

You can see similar walls in many other old towns of Europe. It does not have anything special that is worth visiting.

A lot of the stones and brick have names on them of people who donated to the restoration. In the snow do watch your step (everywhere) but you will have a magical view in the snow. Enjoy!

There are many places to get up onto the wall. I would recommend simply walking along the wall until you reach a staircase. There are plenty of these access points along the way.
