The building located next to the Town Hall was not just Councillors' Tavern, it was the Information Center and also the Clock Tower in Rothenburg. Apart from enquiring information inside the center, nearly all visitors would stand still outside the building to wait for the...More

Practically every building with the walled town is fascinating. In the very busy square alongside the town hall. Plenty happening all around and you have to see on the hour as the clock is worth seeing. Not as good as Prague but worth seeing.

No historic German town on the Romantic Road would be complete without a clock tower on the main square and Rothenburg is no exception. It is nicely and simply animated. You'll find that the building is no longer a tavern but houses the visitors center....More

The picturesque Councillor's Tavern stands at the top of Rothenburg's Market Square and houses the tourist information center. On the top of the hour between 10 am to 10 pm it puts on a quirky clock show that is cheesy but entertaining to see.

One of the landmarks in the square and the starting point for most of the tours. Inside you can find tourist information. On the hour, the town's main legend, the Meisterdraught, is played out in the two windows on either side of the clock face.

In the former times only the counselors entered this building in the market place area . The art clock at its facade represents the legendary Master drink from the year 1631. It is opening its window shutters between 10 am and 10 pm always to...More

This lovely building is home to the Tourism Center which has its own entry. The exterior is very nice, but sadly the little "show" that occurs hourly was a big waste of time in the cold. Two little windows open and a mechanical person in...More
