The bridge is a beautiful sight, but so is the walk to it. Although the bridge is not anything extravagant, I recommend taking the walk down the hill to see it. Walking past what looked like grapevines, beautiful flowers, and strolling locals, you turn around to see a beautiful view of the small town. The bridge itself is pretty, but... More

Great story from this bridge when the Allied forces negotiated to save the town upon the retreat of the Nazi forces.

Going to this bridge does not allow you to see it as well as you can from a distance. I was able to get some great shots from the wall behind the Crime Museum where there is a little lookout on the wall. It is really just a single bridge but how it is built makes it look like one... More

Must see if you love the movie from the 60's. This is where the Potts family left the car after the night of flying to Vulgaria. fun time.

I wandered out of the city one day during my visit to find some trails in the countryside for hiking. I happened upon this bridge, which you can clearly see from the walls of the city or the vineyards so I'm unsure why it was such a surprise to me. You can walk under, around, and over the bridge which... More

Within walking distance of the town walls, but easy to drive to. you can drive across it, but it is best admired by parking beyond the bridge and walking around it. Make it part of your journey into or out of Rothenburg, or as part of the walking or cycling routes along the river.

When in the Army years ago we visited Rothenburg often. One of things we saw was the medieval bridge. It looks the same today as it did in the late 1960’s. When we saw the bridge in the late 1960’s we got to see it with the car from the movie “Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang” on it. It is located... More

The fact that the bridge is still used to cars to drive across amazes me. The knowledge and construction required for that in such the distance past is amazing. I really liked this from a history perspective.

We drove here as we were leaving Rothenburg but you could easily take a nice walk. Lovely old bridge and lovely views of the city in the morning when the sun is behind you!

Rothenburg is a perfectly preserved medieval city! Great for an afternoon date and well known for its wine festivals! Very fun!
