We stopped in this walled city to specifically visit this church. Their Christmas Market was setting up just outside and I've been enjoying that from town to town. Every single church we have been in offers something special to see. This one did not disappoint and it just so happens to be the only one (so far) that has had... More

A trip up the bell tower at this beautiful church is a must see. You get the most amazing uninterrupted views of the old town and the surrounding areas.

At the centre of the beautiful walled city of Nordlingen. It opened in about 1505 as Catholic but, only a decade later it was one of the first to become Lutheran. Inside it is deceptively large and simplistic in its beauty, grandness, and lighting style. You can climb its Daniel Tower, 100 metres or so - the city actually has... More

We decided to climb up the tower of the main building in the city center the St. Georgs Kirche. The entrance is 3 eur per person. You pay at a check point close to the top of the tower. There are many stairs but on the other hand it is a manageable effort even with a non trained person. The... More

At Georg Dom is a beautiful and large Gothic Cathedral in the center of the walled town. The spire is an easy landmark when exploring the surrounding city or walking the wall. Inside are memorials and markers to famous people in Nördlingen history. The architecture is clean with a high ceiling and large windows. Well worth a stop even if... More

Wow , this is a big church. We were fortunate to arrive while the organist was playing. What an experience. You can feel the music, not just hear it

Stunning Church, I just wish I was able to get up in the Organ Loft any play the instrument...... I'd happily give a free lunchtime recital just for the experience of playing it.

I visited this church early in the morning while the city was still sleeping, but what a great way to see it! I didn't climb the tower, but I did see all the Christmas decorations. I recommend spending a few minutes to visit.

The stairs are not as easy to navigate, since some of them are very old and some very narrow. Still if you take your time and climb up there as I did, an old gray hair senior citizen with acrophobia. I loved the view and stood against the wall while taking lots of pictures. It was also fun to talk... More

The climb to the top of the bell tower was enjoyed by the children but not by me as the wooden staircase worried me! The view from the tower when we reached the top was great and worth conquering the nerves for. The man we paid for entry was interesting and obviously enthusiastic about his town.
