Fantastic views of castle available before you reach it. A little disappointed in the tour, you only visit a few rooms and we did not get a lot of information from the guide. Thankfully I had done a lot of reading before the visit. The...More
I was very fortunate going to the castle as I went through a day tour from Munich so my tickets were all ready for us when we got there but as we drove up to the car park at about 11am the ticket queue was...More
we arrived by public bus from fussen, not more than ten minutes. we did not have reservations but this time of year it was not an issue. you have to visit both castles. the person who waited on us was very gracious. he set up...More
It was one of the first places on our list since we decided that we would travel to Germany. The time to enter in the castle is precisily, everything is beautiful and organized. The view before reaching the castle, during and over the bridge, are...More
We booked our tour time online (must do at least 2 days ahead), which made navigating the ticket line MUCH faster! It takes quite awhile to walk up to the castle, but it’s worth it! We learned a lot of its history on the tour,...More
This tour is a TOTAL Waste of time. The two castles you see are very close together and the stop in Oberammergau allows for only about 20-30 min to see the town. We also agree with the previous post about the van. There was nothing...More
We strongly endorse our guide from Radius Tours in Munich (Dan). He was charming and very informative during the bus ride to and from Munich. But the castles tours are conducted separately. The castle is in a beautiful setting. The castle art and decor is...More
We went to the oh-so-famous Neuschwanstein castle and got a ticket for a tour with only a 2-hour wait. I was only in line about 15 minutes with at least 50 people ahead of me. There are 60 visitors in each tour group and tours...More

Yes it is a tourist trap, you are led around very quickly...More
The tour group run by Ladho is top notch and on point. When you go to visit places like this you have to put a lot of trust into the tour group and they also have to put trust in you

Noone can hike around the castle. As far as I have known, there are lockers in Fussen train station. It costs about 5 € /1 standard pc/day. If you travel by flixbus, it drops you off a no-name bus station, next to a Lidl markt. You have to walk about 2,4 km to Fussen town.( No taxi, no bus, no hike from the place to Fussen town).
That's all I had experienced in Fussen.
