Long history so the builders are in. Half the work had been completed by mid April and its well worth crossing as there are good coffee and lunch places on the other side together with great photo opportunities and a canal which copes with those huge Danube barges.

This bridge is undergoing restoration and repairs. Although older than the Charles Bridge in Prague, it now has a modern feel to those walking across. The charm and architecture are best seen from the rivers edge.

unfortunately the bridge is under construction and is not in the pretty stage of construction. Also they are making such improvements on it that it does not look old anymore. In fact for the age of the true bridge it was very disappointing that we could not see any original stonework due to the façade that is being placed over... More

Well we went there to take great pictures and view of the bridge but sadly it is currently underway construction. So plan accordingly. There is a UN World Heritage museum near the bridge tower which is free to visit.

This bridge so well built in the mid 11th century that no major renovations were required until a thousand years later. This was the only way across the Danube into the city until the late thirties and the most direct route to the centrum (city center). This means that almost every major and minor historical figure entering the city has... More

This is a nice quick thing to do and is walkable from the old city. The interpretive centre is interesting and fully accessible for people with mobility issues.

You park across the river from old town and walk across the old stone bridge to old town. Old bridge is being refurbished over time but still has classical looks

It was difficult to get a great appreciation or photo of the bridge due to the renovations. However, I am certain that my rating will greatly improve after renovations are completed.
