Our Viking cruise ship, Odin, docked right in the heart of the old city and we started our tour with our guide from there. Passau was day 4 of our cruise and turned out to be one of 3 most favorite stops (along with Regensberg...More

The cathedral is a unique and beautiful church and well worth a visit, but the much hyped world's "largest organ" concert is dramatically over-rated. The day we attended (along with about 2000+ other attendees) to the standing-room only noon concert, the music selection was unusual,...More

My wife and I arrived at Passau recently during our river cruise on the Danube. To the best of my humble opinion, the magnificent St. Stephen's Cathedral is a real GEM in the crown of the lovely town of Passau. This is a baroque cathedral...More

We did this church concert as an included tour from Viking cruise. It is the second largest pipe organ in the world second only to one in Los Angeles and that one out of order. Concert was beautiful. I believe ticket for those going on...More

So you’re in Passau on tour and of course the guide says ,”you have to to the cathedral.” Go at noon for the concert featuring the largest organ in the world. It is impressive even if you’re not a big fan of organ music.

If you are visiting in Passau, this church is a must to see! It is easy to get into and the organ is one of the largest in the world. It is free and you don't need to buy tickets or a tour to get...More

Make sure you attend this 35 minute concert in the church. The interior is vast with many statues and ceiling paintings. One of the largest organs in Europe.

On Viking tour following history of Passau and the Cathedral, we were able to hear Organ Concert by organist of the Cathedral, including Bach and Mozart. Beautiful Cathedral with many paintings, but no stained glass windows. Organ very unique, pipes in 4 different locations. Look...More

This cathedral has baroque scuptured images throughout. Interior is immense, as is the organ with over 1800 pipes. A photographers delight. Unfortunately we were not able to stay for one of the daily concerts.

Passau is a beautiful town. In the center is the cathedral. It is truly beautiful with frescoes, stained glass and my favorite: self sculptures of the stone masons holding up key parts of the sanctuary. Definitely a must see!!!!

We finished the 2 hour walking tour (from the Uniworld River Cruise) of Passau at the St. Stephens Cathredral. The 30 minute recital was Powerful, Splendid, Captivating, moving (not enough words to accurately describe). The Cathedral itself (all 300 meters in length) is a true...More

There is a concert every day but Sunday. On Sunday, you would need to go to a church service.

I would think that it would be as we were moored at the furthest end of the bank and it only took us 20 minutes to walk back.

I think you can get tickets either online, or the day before. I am not sure they perform every day, again you might need to check online.
