    Functional central station in Munich
Arrived and departed from Munich Central Station (München Hauptbahnhof) during a recent trip to Austria and Germany. There was a bit of construction taking place and fairly large crowds, many making way out to the Oktoberfest celebrations. Because of construction taking place, the lockers available seem to have been greatly reduced at the moment. This is something to be aware of for those aiming to use such services. Platforms are organised well, signage makes it easy to find departure location and there are loads of destination departures so plenty of travel options from Munich Hbf.

    Big, central station
Munich's Hbf - primary train station. It's pretty easy to take the S-Bahn or U-Bahn from here to see the city or head elsewhere in the area. Just be mindful of your belongings as there are still panhandlers and pickpockets throughout the station looking for easy targets. It's a construction zone for now though on the surface level, so plan accordingly to have to backtrack and take poorly labeled routes to get around at times.

Convenient hub with lots of food options
It’s hard to visit Munich without at least passing through the main train station. A central hub for the trains and local tram system, the station is also filled with restaurants, cafés, kiosks, and shops. There are lots of good options for grabbing a quick snack or meal on the go.

The person working at the toilet in the central bus station was extremely unpleasant tonight. First he Was screaming at me because I was lining up for the men’s toilet (sorry it was the middle of the night and was traveling since 10h on a flixbus and it looked like the ladies toilet was closed by a chain). Then he was insulting me for taking too long to take 50 cents out of my pocket (I was the only woman in the line so no pressure needed). he looked pretty drunk or high and meeting him like that serious scared me. I hope he loses his job as he was clearly not doing it (train spotting style toilet)

Arrived in Munich central station on an OBB train from Vienna. We had a 10 minute walk from the platform to the main concourse, through crowds, not helped by building and other works taking place. The station is dirty and very disorganised. The signage is poor. Indeed the whole area around the station is run down and feels unsafe, though it is where most hotels are based, including the 5 star Sofitel. Transferring to local public transport is easy, but hard to find ticket machines. My advice is only travel to Munich if you have no choice, this city is unfriendly and dirty. Avoid

Probably the most desolate train station in Germany - travel a loon German trains but had been a few years to come back to Munich central station. It had completely changed with most shops and eatery gone, seating / waiting area decimated to a total of maybe 20 seats above the main hall ( in the main hall -> cold, noisy) could be undergoing renovation but no sign indicated so.

It is a big place and that's why it is rather confusing for me as a first time traveller to munich.

The station have 3 parts, the regional/international trains, the S-bahn in the middle and then the U-bahn.

One have to be bold to ask people when one is lost and that is when tourist like me can encounter beautiful Germans who are very willing to help tourist navigate their country. Well done Germans, you are awesome.

It's the worst railway station I've ever seen! The building is dirty and the lockers are a mess. Moreover, the lockers are coin-operated, which is quite inconvenient.

It was annoying when our locker didn't read the 2-euro coin I had inserted and I ended up paying eight euros instead of six.

We came from Switzerland from a trip there, to change trains, and we had a little bit of time to explore the city. Got off the train and the first thing we see is a broken bench. We couldn't find the proper exit, so we came out to a smelly, dirty corridor. We went to a KFC nearby (that was very bad compared to Hungary of all places), and got back. The underground part of the station smelled and was dirty too. The toilets cost €1 and they weren't as bad, but still were a little bit dirty. Compared to Switzerland and Austria, it was a bad experience. I hope it will be better when they finish the renovations, but to someone that has time to explore the city for a little bit, it's very bad.

This is a big station. Nothing really nice or fancy about it, it’s just basically a train station. There’s what seems like a dozen tracks with several boards to find your train. Signs are well marked. There’s self service ticket machines or a counter you can go to, to get your ticket from a person although the line can get long but moves pretty fast. Employees were helpful. There’s also helpers out in the station. There’s a lot of food choices inside or outside the station as well. Overall no issues.
