It's down the road from the Walking Man statue. If you're in Munich, it's a must stop by and get a picture. Very historical place.

Yes this is a monument that signifies the glory days. Yes it was nearly ruined during Ww2. For that required photo op that everyone seeks nowadays, it is worth a visit. It is looking sorry for itself and looks tired and run down. Good to...More

On our second visit to Munch, we made a point of visiting the Siegestor. Such and impressive monument and worth the walk. It's history is impressive.

This is a grand arch originally built in the 1800's but destroyed and rebuilt after the war. It was originally built to crown the achievements of the Bavarian army. It is the start of many impressive buildings going down Leopoldstrasse

If you have the time and you are near the Feldherrnhalle it is well worth walking down Ludwigstrasse passed the University to view Siegestor. This is a beautiful three arched Victory Gate which was destroyed in WW2 and reconstructed to near its former 1850's glory....More

Well worth a stop if you are heading down Leopold st or moving around Schwabing. Great place for some pictures.

Siegestor was almost demolished after the second world war. Luckily it was saved and rebuilt. It was once to celebrate the glory of the Bavarian army. Today it is a symbol for piece. Worth visiting.

Take a city tour and enjoy the sights. For 13 Euro in about two hours you are going to see all attractions.
