This city gate is not unlike the Arc de Triomphe in France. It is well worth visiting and is architecturely very interesting.

Walking from ou rhotel near to central station and after three minutes of strolling you will notice this huge and architectural arch to welcome everyone to the center of town.

The Siegestor (Victory Gate) is visible while on the hop on hop off tour, so it's not necessary to get off the bus if you only want a picture. It's easy to take a picture if you are sitting at the top of the bus...More

I understand the archway is attributed to Bavarian times (oh those were the days with plenty of statues and monuments abound). I also understand that the archway was partially destroyed during WW2. Terrific that it has been reconstructed and now dominates the view down Ludwigstraße....More

It's down the road from the Walking Man statue. If you're in Munich, it's a must stop by and get a picture. Very historical place.
