What a great exhibition, not to be missed. But also the other parts of the Pinakothek are worth a visit. I especially enjoyed the display of industrial design in the basement. Allow some time to study the development of design over time.

My husband and I took our son (age 14) and daughter (age 10). My daughter, who is generally very well-behaved, was yelled at twice by guards for getting too close to the art, and then again for getting too close to the wall on which the art was hanging. I was also reprimanded by one of the basement guards for... More

Pinakothek der Moderne has an extensive collection of Modern and Contemporary art. The building itself is impressive and the exhibitions very accessible. The curation is interesting and extensive texts in German and English accompany each artist/collection. Do not miss THOMAS HIRSCHHORN's appocalyptic installation DOUBLE GARAGE or CY TWOMBLY's IN THE STUDIO in Museum Brandhorst. Not to mention PAINT ON. DIMENSIONS... More

I guess you have to be a "modern" art fan to like this place, although the Picassos & Dalis were nice. They have a few interesting cars & household items as well.

The museum curated many interesting exhibitions and showcases, took almost 3-4 hours just to look at all the art exhibtions, Sunday - admission only 1 Euro

This is an excellent modern art gallery, with numerous works by famous artists as well as lesser-known German ones. On Sundays it costs a mere €1 to get in! The building itself is a work of art. Staff are strict about leaving bags at the cloakroom, which costs a mere €0.70.

The artwork is great. If you are less into the modern art, consider visiting the design part. However, the guards managed to spoil the whole visit; I never felt so unwelcome in a museum. We had a three-year old child with us, who enjoyed the visit, until a guard yelled at him on top of his voice from across the... More

This is well worth a visit. The building itself is beautiful and the paintings and exibits are really good. You can easily spend 3 hours going round. If you like the Pompidou you will love this.

There's something in here for every taste and the building is just breathtaking. The coffee shop is very inviting for a rest which is needed due to the sheer size of the museum. Definitely worth a visit.
