This is a very large and open park reasonably close to the city centre. Be warned though quite a number of the paths get quite muddy.

I came the coldest week ever with lots of snow on he ground and I made sure I walked from Odeonsplatz to Munchner Freiheit through the English garden. The sun was shining and it was -6oC but the park was full of people strolling, taking the kids sledding and generally enjoying the park. I had a blast.

What a beautiful park. It was winter when we were here so didn't get to see it at it's best, but still worth a walk around. Small Xmas markets were nice, but nothing too excited. Surprised to see so many dogs of leash, but owners must be reponsible because there was no messes to avoid.

Great Outdoor Experience in the very City Center. Start in the lower part from direction Odeonsplatz. In Summer very crowded and Festival like atmosphere

The park is large, and pleasant but nothing particularly spectacular There are some nice water features, and nudity is allowed discreetly

Being bigger than Central Park in New York, English Garden has something pretty much for everyone. It's the perfect place for naturelovers, but couples and families too. Actually there is 2 parts: the southern part with it's beergardens Chinesischer Turm and Seehaus attract 90 % of the tourists. It's a great place to take a stroll in the sun and enjoy... More

I walked half of the park and I enjoyed a lot the rivers, the walks perfectly marked, the winter market and I spent so much time, when I was almost leaving, just watching the surfers. Yes, the surfers in Munich and in Winter time.

English Garden is actually the heart of Munich. It reaches from outside the city up to almost city center. It is a place where you can go walking, biking, swimming(but be very careful, for the river Isar is very quick and cold) and last but not least surfing, if you know how to do it. Also on a warm summer... More

Nice drive through the park/garden. Nice to see people out enjoying the summer weather. A nice break from a busy city.
