About
Look down at Munich from a height of 190 metres. Here you have the best views as far as the Alps. At a speed of 7 m/s you soon get nearer to heaven. The view of Munich, its surroundings and, if the weather is good, the Alps from the Salzkammergut to the Allgäu Alps is just as unique as the Olympic tower itself. Up here on one of the highest towers in Europe you can get away from the bustle of the city. Take a deep breath, forget everything and then relax. From the viewing platforms of the tower at a height of 190 metres, the shiny silver tent roof silhouette of the Olympic park is a brilliant example of exceptional architecture. At a height of 291.28 metres, the most characteristic symbol of Munich is three times higher than the spires of the Frauenkirche church. Since being opened on 22.2.1968, this huge tower with a weight of 52,500 tonnes has withstood every single storm.

This was an awesome place to go to at night. Not sure why it says it closes at 7pm here, the official site says it closes at 11 pm and I came at 9pm. The night view from the top of the tower was amazing. The elevator goes up at the speed of 7m per second. Highly recommended.

Wonderful sunset views from the Olympic Turm on a sunny summer day. Definitely worth 13€ per person to ascend. The Eiffel Tower experience in Munich.

We managed to reach the top of the tower just before a thunderstorm hit Munich. Before the storm, the views of the surrounding Olympic Park were amazing - gazing down into the stadium and around at the rest of the park.

The main problem is that the park is so far out from the rest of the city that buildings are just specks in the distance and blur into one. We could just about see the Alps, but needed a much clearer day to get a proper picture of the surrounds.

There is little in the way of information panels to tell you what you can see and it was a little underwhelming for the price. One good aspect is being able to stand outside and take in the view - something missing from a lot of such towers where you are stuck behind glass.

Wonderful views and lunch a top the Olympic Tower. We were luck to have a clear day to see the historical sight and surrounding area.

Very nice views, the tower itself is very well kept and has a super fast lift. Once you’re up you have a 360 degree view of Munich beneath you.

From both the indoor level and the outdoor one above, it was just quite a breathtaking panorama of the city below which I would say is a "pretty perfectly" flat landscape (with no mountains & such all the way to the horizon) with actually also "somewhat to my surprise" quite a modest city-scape (with no super high-rises more than like 20 to 25 stories) although yes there's like an extensive "urban greenery" which nicely blends with the city's buildings; and yes definitely more of an "exhilarating feeling" was experienced on the outdoor level which has actually 2 parts where at the upper part which is the "very top" of the Tower is a sign with the city name & the tower height (for a nice photo-op). And besides looking out to the distance, I was also quite impressed by those right around the Tower (the BMW complex with its tower about half the height of this tower and the small lake which is directly down below with also an adjacent golf course). And yes, also getting to do here was putting on these "virtual glasses" to see the year 2072 as how the city will likely look viewing from this tower (although I would say a little far-fetched likelihood of big buses in the air & such in just a matter of like 50 years from now!).

After the morning in the Old Town area with visits to the Marienplatz square (with a great hourly "mini-medieval" show for about 10 minutes to look up on the tower of the New Town Hall) & the Residenz Palace (a great-sized palace with just "many many rooms" inside to go around), it was just about a 15-minute metro ride to Olympia Park (from the station right below Marienplatz) followed by about a 10-minute walk to this tower.

Absolutely incredible views from the top - technically three different views as you can look out from inside, from outside, and then from the top tier which has unobstructed views. On a clear day the views are impressive. Only reason it's not 5/5 is that it's a bit pricey compared to attractions in the city center.

This was a great experience, viewing Munich from a height of almost 200 metres. The views of the city were stunning, with only the rain and cloudy weather preventing us from being able to view the Alps across the landscape. I would highly recommend this to those not afraid of heights, with a keen eye for breathtaking snapshots!
