Museum District in Munich
Jun. 2018 • Couples
Kunstareal is the Museum District in Munich. Here you find a handful for art, artefact and history museums located within close proximity to each other. Visit the Kunstareal and Pinakothek websites for more information on the full list of museums to be found around Kunstareal.

During our recent visit to Munich we visited the three Pinakotheken museums; Alte Pinakothek, Neue Pinakothek and Pinakothek der Moderne (includes the Die Neue Sammlung) as well as the Lenbach House. These were all good art museums that we enjoyed.

Note: You can visit the Pinakothek museums on Sunday for €1 per museum, making this a great day to visit 2-3 museums you are interested in.

Amazing cultural area
Apr. 2017 • Couples
The Museum Quarter can be reached by U-bahn to Konigsplatz, as well of course as other ways. In Konigslpatz square immediately there is the Museum of Antiquities (Antikensammlungen) and the Glyptothek. Walk up to Karolinenplatz, turn left, and you come to the three Pinakothek galleries. Then there are many more museums scattered around (Lenbachhaus, the Museum Brandhorst, the Staatliche Sammlung für Ägyptische Kunst (the state collection of Egypt art)), all in a compact area, it's impossible to visit them all!

There are so many great museums, the three Pinakothek, Lenbach, and so an, that you need days to visit all of them. It is really one of the best part of the city.

The best museums in a small territory
Jul. 2015 • Couples
You should have lot of time, if you want to visit all museum in the museum quarter. But if you are so lucky that you come more and more to Munich, than you know what is waiting you. Great museums: three "Pinakotheken" galleries (Alte Pinakothek, Neue Pinakothek and Pinakothek der Moderne), the Glyptothek, the Staatliche Antikensammlung, the Lenbachhaus, the Museum Brandhorst and several galleries. Also the Staatliche Sammlung für Ägyptische Kunst (the state collection of Egypt art).

Many Good Museums To See
Jul. 2012 • Couples
The Museum Quarter includes Konigsplatz with its Glyptothek Museum and the Museum of Classical Art. Nearby is the Propylaen, a beautiful building and not a museum. Nearby is the Alte Pinakothek, the biggest art museum in the city. Across from it is the Neue Pinakothek with art from the 18th to the 20th century. The Pinakothek der Moderne has modern art.
