Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a fantastic experience at 1860 Munchen at the start of November. The game was 1860 v Freiburg II. Before the game, the fans were in good spirits at the local pub around the corner from the stadium. Beers and schnitzels were served at very reasonable prices. I consumed a few before the game and had a schnitzel to keep me going for a few hours.
Security was quick and efficient. Covid checks were in place and passports and vaccination status had to be shown.
The game itself was quite an exciting affair. 1860 came out of the blocks very quick and by half time they were 2 - 0 up. The crowd were in fine voice and the flags kept on waving. A good thing with german football games is that you can drink beer in the terraces (and smoke drugs if you wish ). I stuck to the beer and sang along with the loyal fans.
Half time, and a quick trip to the fan shop to buy a scarf and a beer bottle opener (as well as a pee due to the beer drinking). Another beer purchased and on with the second half.
What a game it was, the final score 6 - 0 to the mighty 1860 !.
Met a lot of new friends / fans that day. What a fantastic support this club has.
This really was a day to remember!!! Back to the fan pub after the game to celebrate with more beer and schnitzels. The fans were happy to mix together without any trouble which is always good to see.
One place worth going to after the game is the "Giesinger" brauhaus, just North of the stadium. The address is Martin Luther Strasse. 10-15 min walk and has one of the best Wiener Schnitzels in Munchen.

We always enjoy going to 1860 Munich matches, and now even more so now they're back home. The atmosphere for the Pokal match against Holstein Kiel was amazing, even though the match ended in a 1-3 loss.
We turned up about an hour before kickoff hoping to get a ticket, as we're not locals we could managed to buy a ticket online and get it delivered before we left. After joining a quick moving queue, we managed to get our hands on two Stehplatz tickets for a reasonable fee of 15€.
As someone visiting from England, German football matches always remind me how much is missing from English football/football stadiums. My local team could be considered as the Sechzig of Birmingham, we're not a great team, we've got a modest stadium and we're the lesser known team in our city. However, we lack the things that make Sechzig pop! At the Grünwalder you can stand up, you can take your beer right to your seat and the support that the team is show is unheard of in our own stadium. Despite the loss, many spectators stayed on to clap the team off the pitch and throughout he match there was scarcely a second where the ground was silent. We were made to feel quite welcome by the local supporters, who were eager to celebrate the goal with whoever was around them.
The plastic cups the beer comes in can be returned to the bar for 50c, but a lot of kids go around collecting them from people, so I gladly hand them over since they're usually very polite and 50c means far more to them than it does to me. Of course, this is just personal preference. The kid sitting behind us returned to his father triumphantly with a whopping 20€ by the final whistle, which was quite impressive.
By far one of my favourite football experiences. Be sure not to sniff at the "lowly" 1860, it's a much better, much more personal experience than any Bayern match is.

I always admired the dedication of fans of visiting football teams. They mingle, vastly outnumbered, with the home team fans, unperturbed by the danger they are in. The cops in riot-gear always look more concerned than they do.
Preussen Munster fans had the task of turning up to Grünwalder Stadion, Munich 1860 turf. There can be no more dedicated fans than Sechzig’s.
On this occasion Preussen Munster prevailed, but with some dodgy refereeing decisions if you ask me. Everyone got out safely.
There’s a €1 deposit on the plastic beer mugs. Fan’s kids queue up near the fence to catch the empty mugs. Some do quite well, I can tell you.
I suggest you sit as high in the stand as possible.

Attended the 1860 match on Saturday. Great stadium, good atmosphere but was charged 58 euros for 4 beers and 4 hot dogs!!! We questioned the price.... Unbelievable

Was at the stadium for a film premiere.
Easy to reach by public transport - parking is difficult and costs money.
Everything is getting old, but the stadium fits in with this part of town and the football club that plays there.
Grandstands and standing room available.
Good view of the pitch.
Clean toilets.
Kiosks well distributed with the usual offerings; prices quite high.
Restaurants available in the immediate vicinity.

Hi, Has anyone been to watch a Bayern II match at Grünwalder? Is it just turn up and buy tickets like for 1860?

I’m going to be in Munich for Oktoberfest. Bayern will be playing away that weekend but TSV will be at home vs 1FCK. How do I go about buying tix for the match and how expensive are they?
