Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Promenadeplatz is an elongated rectangular square running east-west in the northwestern part of the old town. It is surrounded by striking buildings.
You can find five monuments from the square: the Lorenz-Westenrieder statue, the Orlando di Lasso statue, the monument to Elector Max Emanuel, the monument to Christoph Willibald Gluck, and the monument to Maximilian Joseph Graf von Montgelas.
The Orlando di Lasso statue serves as a memorial to Michael Jackson. It has been decorated by Michael Jackson's fans with posters, flowers, and grave lights since his death in 2009. Michael Jackson stayed at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof next to the statue several times.

Promenadeplatz is a public square located to the north west of Marienplatz and a little way from the main tourist areas. There are some boutique shops and nice hotels in the area, but the square itself is also an attraction for statues to prominent Germans. There's statues to honour Maximilian von Montgelas Statue, Christoph Willibald Gluck, Lorenz Westenrieder, Maximilian II Emanuel and one of King Ludwig I of Bavaria has been commandeered as a Michael Jackson memorial.
There's some interesting statues to learn a bit of history about each of the individuals, but don't go out of the way though.

Recently visited Munich and enjoyed a brief walk through Promenadeplatz in the Old Town, viewing the monuments on display here.
Here you find five statues at Promenadeplatz including traditional 19th-century bronze statues such as the Orlando di Lasso monument which interestingly acts as a makeshift memorial to late American pop star Micheal Jackson. Perhaps most interesting to view is the aluminium block sculpture of Maximilian Joseph Graf von Montgelas, the work of German artist Katrin Sander (2005).
Visiting during December, we found the flowerbeds which lined the square and fronted the monuments were bare. It was nicer seeing Promenadeplatz during warmer months when flowers were in bloom and adding colour to the square.

This is a very odd park that we enjoyed as we walked between the Frauenkirche and Dreifaltigkeitskirche. Both are great churches and if take the short walk between them you can enjoy this park with its statues. The park is more of a glorified median but it does have a sidewalk for you to visit.
First there are several old statues that have been here to great Bavarians. However, one of the statues has been turned into a shrine to Micheal Jackson. Apparently, when Micheal Jackson would visit Munich, he would stay in this area. In addition, there is an interesting modern statue to what appears to be a composer of the 18th century. I am simply not sure who it is supposed to be but I loved the statue. Anyways, great park to enjoy between churches.

Promenadeplatz is a small city park in the Old Town which offers green space and monument viewing for those who enjoy seeing statues of local historical figures during their travels.
Here you will find five status, four of which are fairly typical, 19th-century style bronze statues of Lorenze-Westenrieder, Christoph Willibald Gluck, Kurfust Maximilian Emanuel and Orlando di Lasso. The last mentioned monument in recent years has become an unofficial memorial to Michael Jackson. Lastly, there is a more recent an peculiar aluminium block sculpture of Maximilian Joseph Graf von Montgelas which can be viewed at Promenadeplatz.
The square has flowerbeds and is lined with trees which during summer months provide a nice bit of shade. I don't recall seeing more than 2-3 park benches here but they weren't occupied so you can probably take a rest here as well if passing through the area and needing to get off your feet for a few minutes.

This is a rectangular platz enclosed by famous hotels and buildings with shops on the four sides. In the middle of the platz, there are statues of famous people and a memorial paying tribute to Michael Jackson.

The Promenadeplatz, an elongated rectangular square, was an address for nobility in the Kreuzviertel. There are five monuments on the square today: the statue of Lorenz-Westenrieder, the Orlando di Lasso statue, the monument to Elector Max Emanuel, the monument to Christoph Willibald Gluck and the monument to Maximilian Joseph Count von Montgelas. The original monument to Wigulaus von Kreittmayr was moved to Maximiliansplatz and was not rebuilt there after the Second World War. A curiosity is the di-Lasso statue, now Michael Jackson's memorial thanks to his fans with posters, flowers and paraphernalia reminiscent of Jackson, who often stayed several at nearby Hotel Bayerischer Hof.
