This Castle has always been on my bucket list and it did not disappoint. We walked up the road to get to the castle, and took the wooded trail down. The view from Marienbrücke was amazing but I was a bit nervous with the number...More

This castle is truly beautiful. It is very large, but do realize that only about 1/3 of it was completed. The rest has conveniently been turned into a gift shop. It is easy enough to take a bus up to the castle (1.80 euro). It...More

It was snowing when we were here and it made the scene even more spectacular. The hike up to the castle took about 40mins and I would not recommend it for kids and the elderly. You could take the carriage ride up for part of...More

We visited the two castles, Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau and did not book anything in advance. So, without prior booking the tour, be there 8 am in the morning, when the ticket office opens. The guided tours inside the castle are very quick. Almost too quick...More

The castle speaks for itself even though no one really ever lived there, hardy used, and minor historic value.

My young kids didn't enjoy the bus queue, crowds running them over, or the walk to the castle. But once inside, their imaginations went wild with Ludwig. You can't roam free, it's very organized in small groups with an English speaking guide and short! Perfect...More

In all fairness I am not super interested in castles, We came here as apart of our Globus tour and the bus took us most of the way up the hill and we paid to have a horse carriage take us down. The carriage ride...More

Very interesting history. Well worth touring if you can handle or avoid the crowds by going at on off-time.

After reading other reviews we decided to skip the tour of the castle and we took our pictures of the outside. We also walked up. The quietest (but steepest) is to begin your climb from back of the last parking lot on the left (P1...More

Hi, how do I go about booking online? I can't seem to find the scheduled guide departure times on the website. All that's asked on the reservation form is the preferred date and time of the tour- how would I know what time the (English) tour is?! It just says pickup time is 60mins before entrance time (of the tour)? Or is the tour timings only available to be reserved when I collect my tickets? Thanks

They'll respond back to you with your time and date as close to your desired time as possible. They will send you an email. We had a potential transportation issue and requested a change, which was made by them.
