I thought this was going to be the highlight of our trip but it definitely wasn't. The castle, grounds, and overlook are beautiful but the inside and tour are disappointing. The experience was underwhelming. I would suggest visiting Hohenschwangau as well as we were more...More

We stopped in Munich for 2 days on our month long European tour solely to visit Neuschwanstein, and it was definitely worth it, although mostly just to check it off my bucket list. Getting there is easy if you know what you're doing, but quite...More

A truly must see place! Beautiful scenery and surroundings. The drive there is beautiful. Rhiel this may not truly compare in age to many other castles in Europe, it is definitely something to see. There is another family castle located near this that is also...More

Picturesque castle. We did the tour through the castle and which was quite interesting. The castle is unfinished as Ludwig was only able to complete 16 rooms before his death. For the best pictures and view of the castle be sure to take the hike...More

If your near castle neuschweinstein you have to check it out and do the tour. It's relatively inexpensive and so worth the trip. The castle tour is only 13euros or do both castles for about 25 euros. That's right. ... there's two castles in the...More

Spectacular place. Surrounded by forest, lakes and a very lively town. The castle stands high in the middle of the woods. Beautiful from the outside. Although is not very impressive on the inside, is still worth the visit. Book your entry the minute you arrive.

We visited the Neuschwanstein Castle and found it to be a beautiful piece of Architecture. We didn't expect the extremely large number of tourists that were unleashed on the castle. It was extreme busy and hectic. Parking can be an issue, but if you look...More

We visited Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Linderhof. Linderhof was the best of the three. This is a spectacular looking castle and in the fairy tale style. Regardless of when you get there it will be busy. You can buy tickets on line but you will be...More

yes you can walk around without taking the tour but it is a very long walk about 40 mins to castle and another 12-15 to Mary's bridge which had the best views. If you are staying in Hohenschwangau why don't you walk up the... More

Looks like for just Neuschwanstein it's about 13 euros, or 25 euros for both castles. We bought tickets with a tour group in advance that included a full day trip with bus transportation and tickets to this castle and... More
