Must do, great area to walk around. Easy to get there with the gondola. The cable car up the Alpspitze was 54 Euro for two of us.

A great site to hike up to (tough hike) or take the Bahn (lift) up to the top OR hike over to the Alspitz from an adjacent peak. Beautiful views from the top...great place for skiing in the winter or for hiking in the summer....More

My friends and I took the gondola to the top and then most of us hiked to the top of Alpspitz. It is quite an ambitious hike if you are not prepared; however, it's still beautiful even only hiking half of it! There was enough...More

We took the gondola to the top where there were excellent views of the valley where Garmisch is located. The walk out to the projection over the edge was well worth it!

Very nice location to visit , unfortunately it was snowing so heavily we couldn't fully enjoy the view. We were not equipped to walk in deep snow but the short experience was nice

We had the best time hiking around. Alpspitz. The views are amazing. I think it was my favorite part of our holiday.

There is an app to monitor the weather. We went up in the fog and by the time the car arrived it had cleared up. Wonder place to hang out for fantastic views and to stand on the overhang

The cliff has an awesome x shaped lookout cantilevered out. This is not for the faint of heart as there is nothing but air and a grate between you and a fall to the bottom. If you make it out the view is great.

Birkenstocks would be a no-go. If you are only hiking the section between the Kreuzeck and the Hochalmbahn or from the Hochalmbahn to the Alpspitze with the Garmisch Klassik Ticket, leather boots could be ok, but I would... More

When I was there in August there weren't any explicit restrictions in that regard. I didn't specifically ask about them either though. That being said, there was no one there to monitor whether you climbed to the upper... More

I do not believe there is any type of road heading to the Alpspitze viewing station. The Alpspitzebahn or hiking trails get you there. One of my favorite webcams is up there. If you have not checked them out, google... More
