Mittenwald Brewery offers excellent food at reasonable prices. Their beer, both light and dark is superb. The violin museum will fascinate for a couple of hours at least.

A beautiful town surrounded by mighty mountains. Lots of little shops, cafes, and restaurants with walking distance. Love that a little b=creek runs through the city central and great hiking=g and sightseeing nearby.

We paid a visit here one snowy morning, only a small place but very pretty and lots a interesting little shops. I understand it gets crowded in summer. Well worth an hour or so

Yes there is a train from Mittenwald to Garmish. I'd check the German Train schedule for times

Hi - The hours do vary and in Germany shops are closed on Sundays all day. There are open places to eat etc but in general shops are shut obviously you may find the odd one open for a short time. Bavaria is still a Church... More
