I would highly recommend visiting this area if you are in Berchtesgaden. Just before the path to the lake there is also a market area for food and gifts. Info is available as well.

Hi there, I can not recommend this place during summer time for families with small kids although it has a beautiful view. Be prepared to wait for half an hour or longer in the bare sun to get a ticket, to enter the boat to...More

This is classic Barvarian mountains and lakes. The boat rides do not fill up as there are boats leaving every 5 minutes. As with all things German they move thousands of people efficiently and in an orderly manner. The boat trip itself is a very...More

Konigsee is a big tourist attraction, esp. the boat trip on the Konigsee. We decided not to take the boat trip, but instead did the Malerwinkl-Rundweg, a 2 hour circular, which gives some lovely views of the Konigsee, the surrounding mountains and away from the...More

My wife and I have been in Europe for 5 weeks over summer and our day at Konigsee and lake Obersee was the best day we have had. The bus from Berchtesgaden is "free" with a visitor's pass. Drive is ~5-10 mins. Parking available on...More

I would suggest to drive there if you’re travelling from Munich, else you can take a train and bus too, you have to buy tickets for the lake tours, they will drop you near the icy mountains, then you can have a short walk around...More

The boat ride is slow as it is on electric boats that are designed to be a relaxing trip to drink in the surroundings. The short hike at the very end is oh so worth the cost and time. The internet does not do the...More

A beautiful boat cruise in the midst of the German Alps. Do not miss going to Obersee Lake, which is a small 15min walk from the 2nd stop of the cruise.

The Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's Nest) is not very far from the lake - approximately 3 miles / 5 kilometers. You can Google "Taxi" on a map of the region and it will give you a few options.
