Schlossplatz is Stuttgart's main square, located downtown right next to the main shopping street Königstraße. There are a big fountain in the square center, many benches, grassland for sitting and relaxing and free wifi. I really love to grab some drinks or food and relax & chat with friends on this open & sunny square in summertime.

If visiting Stuttgart by train, Schlossplatz will highly likely be your first stop. We visited in February where it was cold and rather empty. Regardless, the site is grand and beautiful. The surrounding architectures were amazing. We were informed that the site is usually full of life on the weekends.

Enjoyed walking around this square. So much of Germany - and Stuttgart - was destroyed during WWII bombing that it was a treat to experience this little trip down memory lane. Interesting buildings, lots of green space for an enjoyable stroll. Even enjoyed it in the winter so can only imagine what it must be like in spring and summer.

I stayed in Stuttgart for three nights and I guess this was the attraction that I visited the most. In winter it is probably more quiet than otherwise; I can imagine this place bursting with life in summer.

I'm not the biggest fan of Stuttgart's centre ("Stadtmitte"), but Schlossplatz is ok. Actually, it's really nice in summer and around Christmas time - for the traditional Christmas market - and it's simply ok the rest of the time. But, hey, there are quite a few Pokestops around. So, if you're into PokemonGo, you should visit :)

It was the center of town where all the activity was. I was there in mid January and it was very cold. I went there as much as I could. I walked along the main road, went to the farmers market, went to the churches all around and the majestic buildings around the square. Went and had tea in the... More

My family and I love coming down to the Schlossplatz as much as we can. I enjoy the history and the Farmers Markets that are here. My boys LOVE all the bakeries and cafes.

We went here just to pass time in the evening. Nice place to sit and relax. Also has shops and restaurants around. We went in peak winter so there wasn't much activity around but I heard it is very good in summers

Sunny crystal clear but cold beautiful blue sky and a wide open square bounded on two sides with attractive old buildings. Beyond can be seen the upper slopes of the bowl shaped city with its large German residences.
