Beautiful church with amazing wooden alter

This church is beautiful, inside and out. The most unusual feature is the exquisitely-carved Hans Seyffer wooden alter dating from the 15th century.

I was so lucky to be there at the time a full choir and string orchestra performed within for an hour. It was wonderful. On another visit I was fortunate to be able to climb to the top, the view was terrific as you might imagine!

St Kilian’s church – well worth a visit for the beautifully carved wooden altar screen, some interesting stained glass windows and, at the entrance, some curious stone carvings of strange animals and humans with bird faces.

Beautiful church in the heart of Heilbronn. Definitely want to check out the wooden alter, such as the ceiling inside of the church. Historical building and worth viewing.

This Protestant Church was named after St. Killian in 1297. The church was essentially destroyed in WW II and it took until 1974 that it was fully rebuilt and re-consecrated. One of the highlights of this church is the beautiful wood carved high altar by Hans Seyffer. Much of this altar was stored away in salt mines during the war... More

This church has gorgeous carvings on the outside, especially the impressive steeple. Upon entering the church, we saw old carvings salvaged from the original structure and the beautiful sanctuary. While we were there, we also got to listen to choir practice in this amazing building. It was really impressive to see the pictures of the church still standing after a... More
