A good one like many other Rathaus places in the country. Surrounded by many shops and restaurants. Importantly very active even on weekends

The Rathaus itself is fairly nondescript, so I doubt many would want to visit it for it own sake, but it does stand at the east end of the Marktplatz, and that square is worth visiting for the other sights and features filling the square.

It's a beautiful building located in the market square in the heart of beautiful old college town Heidelberg.

Another building in Heidelberg's altstadt which is sadly quite plain for the area and a German Rathaus. It is currently operating as the tourist information office.

On the biggest square in town is the tourist info place, former town hall. Many restaurants share the space so you can get a coffee, drink or meal in from of it.

The Heidelberg town hall is really basic...Nothing fancy or special. It's too bad regarding the gorgeous rest of the city!

Well worth a visit. The building was not open to the public when I visited but a wander around the outside is worth the effort. Beautiful building and surrounded by attractive structures.

It is a nice looking building in line architecturally with many buildings around the German countryside. If you are lucky enough to go inside then you can probably have a better understanding of it. It's a government building so no visitors are really able or...More
