Historic and has much to tell visitors about the past. Saunter across, view all sides and enjoy the panorama of Heidelberg and the Neckar valley
Currently the entrance gate, brucke tor, is hidden behind scaffolding, making the bridge less spectacular. On the bridge there are 2 sculpture groups, but the main reason to go on it is for the views of the castle and the old town.
Built in 1788 (not really that old by European standards), this pedestrian-only bridge joins the old city with the north side of the city. See also the brass monkey just west of the bridge.
