An hour covers the old town. If you need somewhere to eat you'll find an abundance of cafe's and bars.

Heidelberg Old Town is a beautiful place with many amazing historical buildings but it was hard to enjoy as it was extremely busy. There are plenty of shops and restaurants. Although there were so many people it wasn't difficult to find a place to eat...More

This is the heart of old Heidelberg. Walk around the churches, plazas and main shopping walkways. Lots of old shops and restaurants as well as hotels. We stayed right by the river in this district and were very happy with the locale.

Heidelberg Old Town is just a lovely place to relax and enjoy a leisurely stroll or sit in the little bars. Walking around gives a great flavour of life in a student town with an old world feel.

Some very quaint streets, but nothing particularly exceptional. It did rain a lot when I was there, so it might be a lot nicer in the sun.

The most thrilling attraction of Heidelberg is the old town itself. The cobbled streets, the eclectic architecture of the buildings, the numerous shops and cafes, the young people enjoying themselves and of course the lack of cars!!! The only thing missing is a pedestrian street...More

We visited Heidelberg with friends during X-mas markets time. It's probably one of the best choices as everything around is nice, people are smiling and that unforgettable smell of "glühwein"... In the Old Town you can very rarely see any cars, so you can walk...More

I am not sure. I was there on Easter day and it was closed, but people could walk on the terrace. The Germans respect the weekends and holidays... Unfortunately, the shops, for instance, do not show anywhere their opening... More
