Nice walking around the old city

Nice walking around the old city. Seeing the old buildings but now mostly large chains have taken over the shops and stores. But still nice to walk around

This is a truly beautiful area to visit and is near all the other main areas of Heidelberg. It is almost an essential area as it is the real heart of the city.

One of my favorite towns in Germany as it is so quaint, beautiful and wonderful dining and shopping along the Neckar River. We were there a day after Christmas so not much was open, however it did allow the chance to enjoy each nook and cranny of this old-world city. We took the time to stroll down the cobblestone streets, looking into shops (old and new) and take in the eclectic vibe of the old town without the distractions of the crowds... More

Beautiful city with remarkable architecture. One to love. Nowadays a famous university city and the hometown of famous Albert Speer- contradiction or maybe not.

The old city is so beautiful. Amazing architecture. The shopping was great. The vibe was pleasant even when it was busy. If you go during December you will see the most beautiful decorations and lights.

Another lovely German square with quaint shops, cafes and restaurants. It was even more beautiful because of the Christmas lights. And the Christmas markets here were wonderful.
