A lovely City

We stopped here for a couple of nights. The old town was lovely to walk around with the castle above. Lots of nice shops and places to eat.

I loved the city of Heidelberg. Lots of great tourist shops, cafes and restaurants. The castle is a must see in the area. A walk across the Alte Bruckle over the Rhine is very scenic I loved the atmosphere and feel off Hidelberg

Everything that Heidelberg is known for you can find in the little inner part of the "Altstadt": History, Goethe, Schumann, students,... It is all there!

It was a very live town with loads of tourists and the surrounding was amazing. There are so many things to watch and you will like the walk around the city for sure. There are plenty of shops and dining places available.

Heidelberg is an excellent example of a historic Altstadt. Since it is a university city the population on the streets is relatively young, and there are plenty of options of things to do. Restaurants, churches, museums, and breweries are in abundance, all very walkable once you get there. We were just a tad to early to see the Weihnachtsmarkt, but... More

The historical centre of the city. It is well maintained and it offers you the chance to understand its history.

This is a typical German town with its cobbled streets and lots of shops. I imaginge that in the summer it is packed with tourists. Being November, I thought it would be quiet but despite the month and the pouring rain it was quite full. There are lots of interesting shops, some nice historical buildings and a good view looking... More

I had been to Heidelberg previously and really was only going back to get chocolate at the 'Heidelberg Kisses' shop. (Mission accomplished). It is pretty typical of the historical sections of German cities with cobble stone streets and the impressive old buildings. There is plenty of shopping in this part of town and finding something to eat is really easy.... More

Beautiful little town with lots of college students and littles shops and cafes. If you have a guide you will learn lots about the interesting history of this riverside town. cobblestones and some inclines so not terribly friendly for those with canes or wheelchairs
