Unfortunately the lift was not working when we arrived at the foot of the mountain but we decided to walk up. We did not manage to get to the top but we enjoyed the beautiful views. We also managed to spot some animal such as deer and wild boar. There are various trails one can take; and there are coloured... More

We had great weather on a Saturday and decided to go up early in the day. We spent hours watching the para gliders take off from the hillside and fly through the air. There's a spot to get a beer and the view of Baden Baden is great. A must do!

We walked up to the top of Merkur Mountain on a cold and dull day in Baden Baden! The hike was easy for non experienced hikers and easily done in trainers. It took about an hour to walk to the top and once there the views were incredible! The dull day at the bottom of the mountain dispersed as the... More

You must Trek this, right at the top was Yburg castle (unfortunately I went in a Monday and it was closed). The walk was absolutely stunning in the snow I didn't pass a single person for 5hrs! So beautiful as you'll see from my pictures. I really had some moments climbing 2193ft up to the summit of how quiet and... More

We visited in the afternoon on a day of about zero degrees and the Black Forest was splendid bathed with intermittent shards of sunlight. Took a lovely walk (with three young children in tow) along the track for animal viewing. We had insufficient time to do the full circuit but it was still an excellent 'bush walk' for families with... More

Great Funicular ride to the top and great views across the black forest section of Germany. If you walk around the top you can find trails into the woods for a delightful walk!

Excellent for tracking with beautiful 360 view from the tower at the end of the path. You can also take funicular and there is a playing field area for kids. Must visit if around.

Great views from the top of Baden-Baden and surrounding villages and valleys. We watched a guy waiting for the right time to jump off and hang glide -great.

Well worth the trip, got the bus up from town centre and then the funicular - it was stunning and especially from the top of the observation tower. Do it!
