We saw the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra during the 2017 Easter concert week. What a week. the conductor was Sir Simon Rattle and violinist Lisa Batiashvili was the featured soloist. it was the highlight of our Baden Baden visit. The concert hall is spacious with roomy seats and plenty of legroom. The audience included women in ballgowns and men in black... More

Festspielhaus Baden-Baden is an impressive edifice whose original part was built at the beginning of the twentieth century as the city railway station. That station replaced the former one constructed in the middle of the nineteenth century. Nowadays it contains, among other things, a superb opera house and concert hall. The original building was duly enlarged, renovated and refurbished during... More

Disney Die Schöne und das Biest. We had a fun afternoon watching this familiar story in German. Beautiful building. With good acoustics. My daughter and I were sitting in the 2nd balcony and we enjoyed the experience very much.

It is one of the biggest concert/opera houses in Germay (about 2500 seats). The quality of productions extemely high very often with world stars. The palce itself is an old railways station, rebuilt, it functions even though the auditorium is rather flat, but most seats have a good view.. There are lots of space availabe for the breaks. Restaurants and... More

Our first visit to Baden Baden and its Festspielhaus. Gergiev and the Marinsky Orchestra gave excellent performances in Beethoven and Brahms concerts. We particularly liked the choice of concert program that gave us three major works, a symphony, a violin concerto, and a piano concerto, on each of the two nights. All Beethoven/Brahms, not adulterated by lesser composers. Truly enjoyable... More

The new Festspielhaus is a place with antique and modern building. The entrance is the old railway station and the new opera house is one of the best modern stage.

Our first visit to see a wonderful performance of Tristan & Isolde. Great acoustics, comfortable seats, excellent sight lines (but we did have good seats in the stalls), helpful and friendly foyer and bar staff. And a good number of ladies loos so no queuing required! A very good experience all round. They seem to get amazing orchestras, singers and... More

The Festspielhaus is in the original train station building, but with a modern auditorium built on behind the interesting 19th Century facade. This is one of the leading concert halls in Germany, & the only one funded entirely privately, and it attracts international stars of music and ballet. We booked online from the UK to see the violinist Midori and... More

A visit to Baden-Baden is not complete without a visit to the stellar Festspielhaus, a modern 2500-seat theater nicely grafted onto the rear of what was once the Baden-Baden Bahnhof. The grandiose edifice of the old station holds reception and ticketing spaces, and gives way to a large cube that hosts top-drawer musical events. Our seats in the fourth row... More

A great stop to a hectic travel. Nice time to immerse and loosen the shoelaces. Try the local flavor and feel the weather into the skin regardless of the time of year
