We loved the views that we were able to see. Being from VA, we compared this to Skyline Drive, which had more views from the road and thus were obvious. It would have been nice to have more markings for the views that can only...More

The route, 500, started at Baden-Baden (in the north of Black Forest) and takes you to Freudenstadt. We travelled by camper and the road takes you through the forest. The road is wide enough and there are not many hairpins.

Have traveled some of the most "scenic routes" in many many countries. This was by and far one of the least scenic routes I've taken. If you like to see deforestation, mining, etc., then go for it, otherwise, not worth the time. Not sure I...More

This beautiful drive reminded us of the Blue Ridge Parkway (for the Americans out there). Didn't get to drive the whole thing, and as we were there on Christmas Day, pretty much and restaurants we saw were closed. Lovely way to spend the day, though!
