Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This station used to connect South Korea and North Korea but it is more like a museum now. It is part of planned Trans-Asia railway and also symbolize the hope of reunification between the two countries. It has left a deep emotion to me and also the other Koreans.

Dorasan is the bordercsration liking thectwo Koreas which is not currently in use. In fact it was only used for 1 year before the North pulled the plug.
It was meant to be the great white hope for the two Koreas and indeed it may still be, as if it opens South Korea will be linked by rail with the Trans Mongolian, Trans Siberian and the outside world as well of course as once again being linked with Pyongyang.
You can but a ticket for Pyongyang and get it stamped. You walk out to the platform but of course there is no train, just some interesting displays. The stamped ticket makes good souvenir and before you think it's a rip off, it is 1000 won, about 80c.

If/once reunification happens, Dorsasan station will be the first stop in South Korea from the North. From the display, they fully expect it to link to the Trans Siberian Express but until then it is an empty station with a few peace treaty exhibits. Not much to see, but it’s a stop on any DMZ or DMZ/JSA tour you take, except to stare in awe at the real lifesymbol of the hope for reunification.

Simply put, this station is symbolic of South Korea's aspirations to be united with the North. The train station is no longer active, but the vision is to one day be a link to the North. Really not much to see other than historic pictures and the opportunity itself to visit here.

This station was built specifically to support a factory in North Korea that appears to have been built to take advantage of a cheap North Korean labor force. Both sides have their own agenda and it becomes apparent the more you hear about the history both past and current. Beautifully designed, you can also take a tour from Seoul by train that goes into the station.

The DMZ is full of places that you could not imagine as tourist attractions anywhere else. Blue buildings used for military meetings, underground tunnels, and last but not least an unused train station.

A desolate train station at the border strangely speaks volumes about the current situation on the Korean peninsula. A country divided, and the gap between the separated nations rapidly widening. North Korean's life expectancy 69 years, South Korea 81. How will these 2 bodies eventually unite? It must happen soon, or it may never come. If no one is left that remembers a united Korea, will the two countries still care about reunification? These are some of the topics the swirled in my head as a walked the empty station.

I would like nothing more than to take this train and visit Kaesong and Pyongyang. Both cities have a rich history dating back to the Goryeo and Goguryeo dynasties. One can only wish this train station is put to use one day.

Dorasan Station is a railway station situated on the Gyeongui Line, used to connect North and South Korea, and now is more like a museum, with lots of pictures and history. Very clean inside with air conditioning, there’s a convenient store and buying artesanal local whiskey is recommended as well as your souvenirs. The current purpose of the station is largely symbolic of the hope for eventual Korean reunification.

A train station jusr waiting for the unification of north and south Korea. I was really touched by the deep emotions this station creates among Koreans. It seems to symbolize the spirit and solidarity between the people of north and south. A great contrast to the politics and power struggles between the super powers on either side. The station is modern and very well kept. Ready to use it appears, but right now purely a tourist attraction and a big one too. I would very much recommend to visit with a Korean guide. It is everything behind the polished buildings which tells the really interesting story.
