A beautiful purpose built light filled building housing a wide collection of French and local artists. Very well signed and divided into time and type sections, easily accessible by tramway with an excellent restaurant.

We went expecting a lovely building. Graffiti on the sculpture outside, garden not maintained, grubby what was once white concrete. Little cafe outside. The website said reduction for over age 65, they charged us full price, not worth it.

Beautiful place, great art collection and great exhibits. Grenoble has a long art and avant-garde art history, which makes it even more interesting to visit.

The Fantin-Latour exhibition that we attended in April was the very best presentation of this artist's achievement that I have experienced. Bravo! The permanent collection is not to be missed by anyone with interest in the Western visual arts.

Attended a conference here and only had an hour or so to visit the galleries. I focused on the 20 century galleries and was not disappointed. The audio guide was surprisingly good.
