No greater disappointment on our trip. We expected to see an old Chateau and learn the history of it. Instead we experienced a Chinese Art exhibit and could not even read anything. Most tourist sights have signs in multiple languages, but here. I would say...More

It's a steep uphill walk on cobblestones, but I was able to do it and I'm 30 lbs overweight. I was huffing and puffing by the end. In contrast, I saw an 80-something petite frenchman jog up to his wife waiting under a tree while...More

The castle is a few minutes walk up a very steep hill. Inside the castle, there is a museum (all the information is in French only) and a small aquarium. There are lovely views of the lake and the city.

The main building was undergoing some restoration work and all rather empty, but used for some specialized art displays and work of fantasy illustrators. Other buildings featured the lake and fishing history. Good views from the walls.

Art, Culture, beauty, elegance, this fortress of mediéval origins, a pace of life is still respected; we take a stroll to the historic center of Annecy and you can go by foot to the charming castle, with a wonderful view to the city.
