Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Took a boat trip from Marseille for €5. Plenty of bars and restaurants along the front. Enjoyed the beach while husband went to see orange velodrome Olympic Marseille football club.

My girlfriend & I wanted a nice beach day & we set out to find a nice, sandy beach & although there are about 6 beaches in a row within walking distance of each other, this one which happened to be at the very end was the best in our opinion.

The sand is the least gritty, the beach is not massive, but not small either.

There are about 5 bars/restaurants, although they were not all open when we were there, so check their opening hours!! This caught us out as we wanted a pizza at about 5.00pm & we couldn't find anywhere to serve us....it was either too early or the bars were closing shortly!!!!!

It was glorious sitting on the sand near the water, listening to the waves crashing & the weather was lovely.

This is a great beach about 20 minutes drive from the centre of Marseilles (good luck parking though!)
The beach has lifeguards on duty, and a safe swimming area which is quite shallow for some distance. The beach is clean and (mostly) non-smoking. Plenty of bars and restaurants on the beach, and a Lidl 2 minutes walk away.

A lonely seaside beach right on the Med. Children and dog friendly. There are several nearby restaurants which offer quality meals. A nice place to go during the warmer weather. Accessible to bus routes. Enjoy!

these artificial beaches are not nice at all, too crowdy, dirty and full of rude people, better avoid it and prefer La Ciotat beaches or further

We had a boat ride from Marseille to Pointe Rouge for lunch. It’s a lovely ride takes about 30minutes for €5 per person each way. The boat stops in the harbour and a short walk away your on the beach where there is a selection of restaurants to choose from. There is a Lidl supermarket if you wish to get yourself some takeaway items also. Nice small town definitely worth a day out at the beach

Point rouge beach is right next to the main road and close to the boat disembarkation point as well. It appears to be equally popular with the tourists as well as the locals and has changing/bathing facilities right on the beach with some restaurants and shops to boot. On one occasion the lifeguards would not allow anyone in the water citing reasons of pollution (health hazard) for about a few hours which everyone found quite strange but apart from that it's a nice sandy beach with a shallow lagoon great for a swim in calm waters

Nice place, not very crowded, but little too far for who is going on public transport. If you like some place to run at the beach, thats your place!

This was a nice senic tour, when we got droped off by the beach, it would be okay if you want to spend a few hours sun bathing and swimming but other wise there isn't much to do, the resturants along the beach front are great the staff are very welcoming. the city centre isn't too far away, but is a reasonable walk. The beach is very clean and isn't thar crowded.

The area is easily reachable by public transport and one might also walk along the Corniche. Reasonably clean and there quite a few restaurants. It is not the nicest beach (check Calanques for this) and sometimes crowded, but the close proximity makes up for that.
