I had been aware of this museum for a while but hadn't got round to visiting until recently. Just a very short walk off the Main Street in Villeneuve Loubet the attractive building houses some fascinating exhibits, not least the handwritten menus from the man himself. There is also an amazing display of sugar work from those at the top... More

We went on the first Sunday of the month, when it's FREE to everyone (although Madame on the door had to be reminded of this). Opening hours are 14.00-18.00. We were the only people there. There's not a vast amount to see, but the chocolate sculptures and the sugar creations are spectacular - however, why not build on this and... More

Musee de l'Art Culinaire is a little museum located in a little town about one of the most important french cheffs: Auguste Escoffier, who begin to change the French cuisine to modernize it. Here tou can learn about the life of this cheff, his creations (I think that you can say: artworks) and some real dish menus on 19th century.... More

Contrary to some reviews easy to get to on bus 500 (nice /grasse). Lots of info on Escoffier, Careme, Soyer and others who created modern (1850+) French cuisine. Well laid out and includes masses of sugar sculptures and chocolate creations. The town is worth a visit on its own as it is very attractive with excellent views from the church/castle... More

Lovely little museum, fascinating exhibition and lots of information. The charming lady in charge explained where to find everything and left us to enjoy at our own pace. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed the chance to see how some great dishes were created and to observe the grandiose table setting for grand banquets. As others have said the opening hours are a bit "hit & miss" but it is worth persevering There is no close parking and there are stairs to climb which may not be helpful with small children

I prefer small museums, but I sometimes find myself, as a result, in dusty dark places with poor lighting! This is not the case with the delightful Musée Escoffier de l'Art Culinaire in Villeneuve-Loubet. It is pleasantly designed, well lighted, and very up to date, while occupyng the original house of Escoffier's birth. There are historical items that relate to... More

The Musee Escoffier (Musee d' Art Culinaire) in Villeneuve Loubet is a real discovery. It is a fascinating small museum dedicated to the love of French food and in particular to one of its founding fathers, Escoffier. Somewhat difficult to find, (park across the river, walk over the bridge, and up into the heart of the old village) but having... More
