This historic part of Nice feels like a medieval village with narrow streets curving between old buildings with red-tile roofs, small restaurants and open-markets.

Old Nice is by far a must see. Historical but yet still very local with the markets and restaurants. The small narrowing streets with all the stores and small restaurants makes it magical. Don,t miss the churches,Ste Repararte is awesome. We went to Xmas mass there, wonderful choir, so beautiful insides. And most of all the French people are very hospitable.

A warren of old roads, old buildings in the typical French shabby (and lovely) style and interesting shops. Possibly the most interesting part of Nice.

Forget the tour map and lose yourself in the old town. So much to see and to take in. And when you're done stock up on baguettes, pate, a cheese or two and a bottle of local wine - head home and enjoy!!

On the Saturday morning of our 3 day stay in Nice, we walked to Old Town Market where we were very pleasantly surprised with the assortment of goods for sale. Market very clean. Flower section beautiful. Stall holders pack up by about 2pm. Enjoyed strolling around this area for several hours. Highly recommend a walking visit.

The old town of Nice is a very interesting place. High buildings and confusing streets make it not only very intriguing to discover but if you like to take photos it gives you the perfect opportunity to test your skills.

If you are a London commuter like me, sleeping and living in an old town like Nice Vieux Ville is an interesting experience. It is a glimpse of how life can be structured around just eating and drinking. There is always something to do within five minutes walk of the Hotel Rossetti (highly recommend), and incredibly cheap (compared to UK)... More

I am living in Nice for the next couple of years and chose to find a place in Vieux Nice. I've had a wonderful time these past few months and have become an old hand at giving directions to tourists who walk around with their maps in their hands. My French is improving (although I have a long way to... More

You 'must' visit this area if your visiting Nice, as it's like stepping back in time. Beautiful churches hidden in winding narrow streets. Authentic local quiescence, street side tables, 'real' cocktails, and Italian ice cream. Do not miss an afternoon (and evening) strolling around these streets!!!! If you struggle with using a map, just walk along the promenade, and towards... More

At least half a day in the old town is a "must do" in Nice! I recommend to walk around to see the architecture, try nicoise food, french wine and the pinocchio ice cream!
