A lovely museum dedicated to Marc Chagall. Free electronic guides offer insightful descriptions of the works on display, delving into the personal life of Chagall. Well laid-out and logically divided into sections, we very much enjoyed our visit, and learned a lot about Chagall, his...More

To appreciate Marc Chagall fully, you must know his history. The film in an auditorium blessed with Chagall glass gives a great background and includes an interview with the artist(runs in English and French). It helps one to recognize the emotion, history, and depth of...More

We are Chagall fans so this was one of our 'to do' items in Nice. The exhibit is very small and we were rather disappointing, expecting to see more of his stained glass and other works.

Nice building, good presentation of the paintings with text and audio guide (which is highly recommended). Audio guide is especially good for the kids.

It's a short journey out of Nice's busy tourist district and definitely worth it. It was great to get up close to such pieces of Chagall's work. Loved it!!

I was fairly unfamiliar with Chagall's paintings but in this museum they all have a biblical context which make it kind of interesting but his style isn't my favourite. The paintings are huge and there is a big selection. Also a little cafe in site....More

This is not surprisingly a museum only with art from Marc Chagall. I think all paintings are inspired by the Bible. Takes roughly an hour to see it all, and it was a nice hour :-).

Hadn't been a fan until I saw it in person. Liking it more and more now that I gave it a chance, especially the Bible scenes.

Is there a ticket that covers both Chagall and Matisse museums? Can you walk from one to the other? What is the average time spent at each museum? Are there cafes, restaurants nearby?

No. The cafe at the Chagall museum is very pleasant. You can walk from one to the other but if you see my review of the Matisse museum you won't waste your time. Chagall is between 1 1/2 and 2 hours.

I am a big fan of Marc Chagall's works and have many poster prints. Is there a gift shop in his museum? Does it include coffee table books and prints? I am trying to budget for my trip so if these items are available does anyone know the price ranges of these items? Thanks.
