Well worth a visit when in Nice. The audio guide really added detail and the paintings are special. It is close to the Matisse museum but is definitely the better of the two if you have a short time

The Museo Chagall is an exceptional place to visit. The grounds are lovely and the outdoor cafe is so very pleasant. Of course the most compelling aspect was the presentation of the art. The museum exhibited about 30 very large and striking works by the...More

Although we were expecting this to be a bigger exhibition, particularly in view of the size of the buildings/gardens, it did not disappoint in quality. We were fortunate to be here for annual "free museum night" and so went in for niothing! This presents a...More

Irritatingly, only two rooms of paintings. Not much more. Special exhibits closed. It seems like the museum is just there to advertise for the cafe. Also: parking is very difficult to find, unless you pay (which is expensive). Disappointing.

The museum was worth it as I was interested in seeing Chagall's biblical paintings. If you are not interested in seeing these, then don't visit the museum as it's all they have. Museum is small, can see everything in less than 1 hour.

This museum is well worth a no 15 bus ride up the hill from the old town. Loved it .. So much I went back for a second visit within the week. Truly fantastic setting for these wonderful huge canvasses. Don't miss the auditorium .....More

For those who love, or even like modern art, definitely worthwhile. Increased my appreciation of this great painter. Must see the movie!

Difficult to find on foot and best bit was the cafe which served decent snack from a very small kitchen. Paintings not great by my taste and does not take long to get round. Not free as guide book said but 10 Euro an adult....More

If visiting make sure to take the audio device as it explains the paintings and what the painter. These are free as well which is unusual. Nice little outdoor cafe serving some food. Video in asuditorium a must to get to know Chagall's life. Small...More

This is one of the best individual artist museums in all of France! Yes, that's quite a statement, but I've seen many of them, and this is definitely one of my favorites. Many of the wonderfully colorful, expressive, and symbolic works of Marc Chagall are...More

Is there a ticket that covers both Chagall and Matisse museums? Can you walk from one to the other? What is the average time spent at each museum? Are there cafes, restaurants nearby?

No. The cafe at the Chagall museum is very pleasant. You can walk from one to the other but if you see my review of the Matisse museum you won't waste your time. Chagall is between 1 1/2 and 2 hours.

I am a big fan of Marc Chagall's works and have many poster prints. Is there a gift shop in his museum? Does it include coffee table books and prints? I am trying to budget for my trip so if these items are available does anyone know the price ranges of these items? Thanks.
