- Jet61723210 contributionsWear good shoes! The walk is shown on many websites as being fairly easy, but it is very challenging near Juan les Pins with the path non existent in some places. It should also be noted that it is at least 3/4 hour walk from the end of the trail along the road into Juan les Pins. However, amazing experience and views. Just wear good walking shoes. For distance, with only one short stop, it took us over 4 hours to walk from the centre of Juan les Pins to the old town of Antibes.Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 24 November 2023
- FrequentFlier7518918 contributionsWalk around Cap D’antibesSpectacular walk around the Cap. Takes around 1.20 in a comfortable pace. Beautiful scenery. Good shoes is a must. Walk is demanding due to narrow passages and a winding up and down path. Not for anyone with mobility problems. Start at Keller Beach where you will find a good parking place. End after Millionaires Bay (Ellery house) you will have approx 10 min walk back to the car.Visited May 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 20 May 2024
- Sara S20 contributionsSpectacular stroll along the dramatic Côte d’AzurGorgeous hike along the rugged coastline. Trail head is adjacent to Plage Keller at Plage de la Garoupe. The pathway is narrow and there are a fair number of folks out hiking, so you have to squeeze past other walkers. The pathway is “paved” with large chunks of rock that are not level with the surface. Then there are stretches where there is no paving at all, just uneven chunks of rock. This can be slippery. Excellent cables as handrails in the most treacherous stretches. Once you start the hike, there are limited places to exit the trail. If you don’t want to do the entire walk, the lane near Chemin des Douaniers is an exit. We then returned for lunch at Plage Keller which made a lovely excursion. Definitely unsuitable for young children. (We saw one family with mom trying to guide three active children under the age of five along the path. I was sure one of the boys would pitch off the cliff.) Spectacular views. Nice promenade especially not to be rushed for enjoyment and safety.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 July 2024
- Peter SLondon, United Kingdom59 contributionsA beautiful walk along the Antibes coast. If you want to go on a stunning walk around the coast of Antibes, you’ll be hard pressed to find a better alternative. The path is clearly marked, is generally well maintained, and not overly strenuous. There are quite a few steps, but our family of four managed without any issue - just be mindful of the heat!! There are very few, if any, sandy beaches along this walk, but several opportunities to stop and have a a sit down, dip your feet in the water, or even go for a swim (I’d recommend you bring beach shoes as it’s quite rocky/stony). It’s not a circular route, so you either have to walk back the same way or walk along roads back to the starting point.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 1 September 2024

After taking some time to reach Le Sentier du Littorial, we found that it was closed with no explanation. For your information, the weather was 100% sunny with a slight breeze although the previous day had been cloudy and windy. The forecast had been very clear that the weather would improve dramatically the next day so we were very surprised to find the gate firmly locked and chained.
When we got back, we tried to find somewhere on the internet which might have warned us that it was closed but all sites indicated that it was open '24 hours' although one indicated that it might be closed when the weather was bad e.g. storms.
Not sure if we will bother trying again

This path is difficult for all but the fit. Steep narrow pathways, result in difficulty with passing large groups. Some good handrails and maintenance but beware of some danger to younger and older people. As this path becomes more popular, the crowds start to arrive, plan carefully.

We were lucky to have wind and big waves. There are a few places where you get some salt water spray when a good one hits the rocks when you are on the spot. But we are not made from sugar. Windy day is also good since it will cool your body. We used Hop-on-hop-off buss to get to Baie de la Garoupe. For us it worked well. Some sightseing first, then at the last stop we too off. The walk will take some two hours, really walking and taking lots of photos. You need good shoes but there were only one or two places where well.. walking or stepping up and down the stowny stairs (quite a lot) would not have been the name of the game. The last lap if you choose the shore and not the Chem. des Douaniers, will take you to same the Av. Beaumont. But that route along the shore is recommended. There are some really good places you would miss. Our "around" tour from the Stop 4 of the bus was 2:15. We had just enough time to walk down the long parking lot to the shore, have a large beer and sparklin water in the bar and walk back the Stop 4. I don't know if there are other easy ways to do the Cap d'Antibes. But it really is the experiment not to miss.

We started at the parking of Plage de la garoupe and walked until Château de la Croë (followed all the blue, green, red, yellow marked pathways). The temperature was 23°C with mild wind. The view at each turn was absolutely breathtaking and worth the hike. You might need your mountain shoes (we did it with our running shoes 😅). We walked back the same path to plage de la garoupe after having reached Château de la Croë. Near the chateau, there are small beach banks, you could relax there for a while. Easily doable and highly recommended.

Walked 45+ minutes from our rental apartment in Old Town. Started on the trail from Plage de la Garouope. Walked probably 20 minutes, and encountered a locked gate. Locals seemed surprised as well. No explanation, nothing indicated at the start of the trail. Beautiful day, could see no weather related reason why it would be closed. Walked the 45 minutes back to Old Town, sorely disappointed. Checked online when we got back to our apartment to see if we could have looked at this ahead of time, and could not find anything alerting of the closure or any explanation of the closure.

We decided to have a drive out to the beach at La Garoupe in order to walk the coastal path as we read so much about it online. We parked at the large free car park behind the beach and had a quick coffee before setting off on our adventure. Despite it being February and the temperature struggling to get into double figures, the walk was everything we had hoped for. With stunning views around every corner of the coast, there are parts that are slightly challenging but it is definitely something you should do if you are in the area.

Hello Shandie354,
First off, thank you for your helpful review of Le Sentier du Littoral. My husband and I will be in Antibes this September, so I am researching now. We plan to do this hike, and I have mapped it our on Google Maps. But the strange thing, GM will only route it counter-clockwise, and the trail leaves off the bit at the very top of the map to the east of the starting point (Plage de la Garoupe). Even when I plot Plage de la Garoupe beach to Criques de la Garoupe, which looks just a few hundred yards away, Google makes me go all the way around the loop the wrong way! So, I just want to make sure this north bit is walkable. It's probably just a glitch, but I'd rather be certain.
Written 12 April 2019
Yes, it's walkable both directions. You can start at Plage de la Garoupe or at the other end. Note that this is a very busy walk -and relatively easy- especially at weekends and during the holidays. Enjoy

If I stop at Pole d'Echanges d'Antibes, how can I get to Le Sentier du Littoral?
Written 12 July 2018
I will be arriving at Antibes train station and I searched on Google it mentions that it takes around an hour and 6 minutes to walk from the station to Le Sentier. However, it is quite a long walk and I am wondering if there are any buses that I could take from the train station to there and how much does it cost?
Written 12 July 2018
Yes, it is a long walk, but you can take bus 2 from the station to the 'Phare' bus stop. From there it is about 1 kilometre to the start of Le Sentier. I think I paid 1,5 € for the bus.

Buongiorno,
