Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Forget the Stelvio Pass, for a once in a lifetime driving experience, drive any of the three Corniche routes between Nice and Menton. We took the middle one, but now realise we should go back and do the other two, along with this one again.
On our way back from the Mattise Chapel (Chapelle du Rosaire) near Vence to our hotel in Menton, I over-ruled my wife, who wanted to take the autoroute because it was getting late, she was hungry, and we had had a long day. The motorway would have taken under an hour, the secondary roads would take about double according to our sat-nav.
Jane gets ratty when she gets hungry, so we stopped to reconnoitre one attractive and obviously popular restaurant en route. The menus started at just short of €100, we were rather casually dressed, so we continued. At Eze, we found a great restaurant (the Hermitage) at more reasonable prices, so enjoyed a good dinner before getting back into the car.
We probably met about 20 cars on the whole 30 kilometre stretch from Nice to Menton, the evening air was warm, the sound of our V8 engine was magical (we had the cabriolet top down), and used the manual paddle shift gear change to select lower gears, instead of leaving it to the automatic.
The lights of the fishing boats in the Baie des Anges, and of the cars on the Promenade des Anglais below twinkled and sparkled as if covered in angel dust. We passed above Villefranche, better than driving through it, overlooked St, Jan Cap Ferrat, Eze sur Mer, Monaco with a cruise ship or two in its harbour, stopping many times to try and take decent photos, past Roquebrune; by this time trying to make the journey last longer.
Sound and sight were only two of the senses, the air had a faint but sweet scent of grass, herbs, and flowers.
The entire experience was rather magical. We will definitely return, and next time we will try all three versions of the route, Haute, Moyenne, and Basse. We may also test them at different times of the day and night, but I suspect we may never be able to recreate the magic of the original first time.
We would both thoroughly recommend driving this route, even if it only once, but beware, it could be highly addictive!

We did it in the spring time and it was amazing with all its beauty, colors, and lack of traffic. This is the best of the corniches. If you want to enjoy the view, you shouldn't be the driver. In our case it was me and my wife, so we had to stop from time to time to enjoy. Turn the radio to RMC 1.

This is one of the most spectacular drives in the world. The views are fantastic with many places you can pull over and take photos of the beautiful Côte d'Azur between NIce and Menton. It is not to be missed and you can access many beautiful villages along the way.

If you are a driver, don't miss this journey. Even if you just take the short stretch from Nice to Eze (breathtaking in it's own rite) you will not be disappointed. Around each corner lies another spectacular view of the Mediterranean, the mountains or the villages nestled in the vlalleys. The only drawback, it just isn't along enough. The road is a bit narrow but well paved, safe and plenty of opportunities to get off the road with the camera. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip to the Cote D'Azur.

When driving from Nice to Monaco there are several options of routes. We chose the Moyenne (Middle) Corniche M6007, built in the 1920's and providing good access to the hillside village of Eze, which is accessible only on foot. Views and turnouts on the road provide superb vistas and dramatic settings of exclusive residential peninsulas. In August the traffic was heavy but never so crowded that enjoyment of the scenery was compromised. We are planning to try the Basse Corniche next time should we be so fortunate to visit this magnificent part of the world again

Smooth drives and got upgraded to an Audi A4 which was fabulous and we had such a wonderful time along the French Riviera from Avignon to Marseilles all the way to Cannes - will do this again in a heartbeat!

This is an easy road trip with views over the coast. It did not impress me much - although I found it interesting while descending to Beaulieu-sur-Mer - but I think you should definitely give it a try if you go from Nice to Monaco. Otherwise, it is the only road that takes you to Eze vilage (which btw, it is definitely not a tourist trap!), so you should give it a try anyway! It may surprise you!

We biked from Nice to Monaco on this route and the views were absolutely stunning. Unless you are super fit an electric bike is highly recommended (that's what we did). There are lots of spots to stop off and take in the views. The only downside is that you are biking along with traffic so make sure you're comfortable with that.

We travelled first on the upper corniche exiting from Eze on the top road which had a lot of serpentines and at times , for the newcomers, was dangerous ; nevertheless the vistas were unmatchable !
Coming back from Menton we used the Middle Corniche which had different views still very nice
