Near the pope's palace , in the center of the old city. Very impressive building with marble facade, and statues in front. We had no time to visit the interior In general Avignon is a nice city.

The quality of this performance of Gounod's opera in a small regional theatre was exceptional. The chorus took a while to get going and the suprano's upper register was a bit weaker but overall a very good performance. Ruined slightly by a daft set design...More
