Not to be missed ( I was too late last time). Really great 2 hour walking around beautifully restored buildings with personal iPad showing what it looked like in 14th century with just right amount of commentary and music. Absolutely loved it.

Taking a group of 33 on pilgrimage throughout France, it made sense to find time to see the Papal Palace...right? The tour was wonderfully executed, but even being aware of the history, seeing this Palace wasn’t what we had thought it would be. The Palace...More

What a place to visit, full of history and incredible architecture. Can get very busy at times especially at lunch as outside in the square there are several large restaurants. Street artists and buskers also occupy the square. The road train which departs from the...More

Loved the popes palace but even more the technology for the self guide. The interactive iPad was the first we had seen and was brilliant. Very informative and interactive. The kids even had a treasure hunt to find.

Nothing too spectacular unless you are really interested in standing where people stood in the 1300s... a little expensive for how little there is to see. Everyone was issued a tablet, which showed a representation of what each room would have looked like when populated....More

Le Palais des Papes is a must see in my book. Awe inspiring sights, history, and art. So much to see and experience here, both inside and outside. Visit the little church next door too.

Compared to many other palaces or castles in Europe, this place could seem less significant from the outside. However, there's much more to be discovered by reading into the past of this place. 11euro for adult to enter, apart from the church artifacts, there are...More

You need your most comfortable shoes and your most flexible attitude for this tour. The African sculpture is mindblowingly interesting and powerful. Screw the popes. Ok, not really, but just be ready to have the African sculptors be way more interesting and relevant than medieval...More

We just tried out the histopad at the Papal Palace of Avignon. The augmented reality is stellar. One gets a tablet which shows 3D reality in the rooms, with excellent earphones containing background music from Gregorian chants and Ars Nova to horse hoofs, hunting parties...More

An amazing structure built in that era of time. It took a great mind to organize and build such a large palace. Turn off your cell phone off and let your mind go back about 900 years.

Easy. You would get near the Pont d Avignon and if you go to the bridge information shop you can buy a ticket to go on the bridge and straight into the Palais. Enjoy.
