Underneath the big names of Cognac lies the heart of Cognac distilling. Jean-Luc with his wealth of knowledge and contacts was able to provide a truly educational and entertaining insight into these small independent family producers who are the real essence of Cognac.

From Bordeaux, we went on a full day cognac tour with Jean-Luc Montembault of Cognac Tasting Tour. Historic and informative with top class guides. Overlooking the river Charente. Idyllic setting. 10 Euros per person which includes a tasting session afterwards.

Jean-Luc was the consummate tour guide and educator. From the start, he organized and tailored our trip to be responsive to the four couples' interests that he was entertaining. We were one couple who toured around the district tour for 4-5 hours. Visited a small farm where they made ​​LIN. Talked to an old lady. Jean Luc, our tour operator, was professional and very knowledgeable about cognac and the region in general.
