We stayed in La Pedrera 5 nights and enjoyed it a lot. We arrived at the end of carnival and the whole villadge was full of drunk young people, loud music 24/7 everywhere... So if you want to relax, avoid this place at end of February. After carnival ended La Pedrera became a nice quiet place.

Walk on the rambla in either direction and you'll find a spectacular beach, and if you walk down the stairs, down the rocky outcrop you'll find some clear pools where to splash around.

La Pedrera in early November is incredibly quiet. Most restaurants and shops are closed apart from the supermarket and there's a constant hum of renovation and building works as bars and hotels are spruced up ready for the tourist invasion from end November. The town is not pretty but the bay and beaches are spectacular - stretching for miles and... More

I absolutely loved this town. It had a great combination of families and young adults. Everything was was walkable and they shut down the Main Street to automobiles at night. We found delicious restaurants and beautiful beaches. There was also an ATM and small mini-markets for groceries. We were only there for 3 days but I wish we could have... More

We visited La Pedrera starting March 17--we see the charm of this little seaside town and the dramatic, 30-mile beach. It is, however, quite closed-up feeling at this time of year. Restaurant choices are limited and most places are closed on the main street. Nevertheless, it is a quintessential Uruguayn experience--a mix of elegant houses on the beach and hostals... More

good place to relax, two long stretched beaches, the village is still small but with all you need. Off season it is very "tranquillo" - perfect for those who love it like this

If you are looking for a place to relax, disconnect from the world, this is the place for you. A lovely beach town, with some of the coolest places to rent...and one of the most beautiful beaching in Uruguay. Just remember that if you go during the high season is extremely crowded!

Beautiful beach such as any other one around the area. We didn't find a cheap place around to sleep.
