We took the tour reserved for experienced riders and professionals. Not that technical! Two hours walking around the stables and the rides. Sumptuous horses that literally seem to fly so light when ridden by squires! I recommend.

I booked by email on a morning slot. Our Guide accompanied us for 1 hour and gave us explanations about the squires, the school, the horses. I learned a lot and it wasn't overwhelming. The visit is made outside most of the time (to take into account in case of heatwave). A very good time!

Excellent tour of the facility. Fantastic for anyone interested in horses. Informative talk and walk about, with lots of petting of the horses. English speaking tour bookable in advance and daily. Displays bookable in advance - check website.

Great opportunity to visit a National Equestrian centre of excellence- we did the tour without a Matinale performance ( which are infrequent)
Allow 2 hours.
Massive operation with up to 350 horses, all run on military principles with impressive facilities.
Stable management effort must be considerable!
Good to hear the history and traditions of haute dressage training.
Could do better:
1) Opportunities for tour commentary in languages other than French ( perhaps via headsets) . The speed of speech of our tour guide stretched my French listening skills!
2) Opportunities for refreshment before/ after the visit- no drinks or coffee available (so take your own)
Glad we went- a must for any equestrian.

After visiting last year, we returned for a morning show in the absence of evening shows in the summer.
Very beautiful representation in a magnificent setting!
We are shown the different steps, explaining the subtleties and difficulties that this can represent for riders and horses. 1 hour passed very quickly, the children aged 13 to 2 were captivated.
Practical side: Easy access by car, large parking lot, access to the stands is fluid despite the presence of around 1,500 people that day. It is better to print the tickets beforehand, choosing a platform preference (even if there is not really one platform better than another...), because the wait can still be a little long.

Visit in 2 stages: 1/ morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., performance with young horses who can thus get used to the public - superb! - we were in grandstand Y around seats 60, so you are in the middle of the big ride - it's not possible to take photos and videos, too bad but we understand - you can't see the time passing, it's magnificent - a lot of people so it do not arrive at the last moment 2/ guided tour of one hour in the afternoon with presentation and history of the ifce and the black frame, anecdotes and above all a visit to the stables to caress the horses, it's magical, the children and the adults love it, possibility of asking lots of questions, it's very complementary to the morning and we recommend it!

Nous vous remercions pour cet avis élogieux et sommes heureux de constater votre ravissement lors de votre séjour au sein de notre institution. En effet, la formule "DUO", matinale et visite, a pour but de faire découvrir le travail des écuyers du Cadre Noir et de leurs jeunes chevaux, qui se lancent dans leurs premières années de représentation. Lors des journées dans lesquelles une représentation est organisées, il est en effet obligatoire de réserver car les places sont attitrées.
Toutes les équipes serons ravis de vous accueillir lors d’un gala, qui vous permettra de découvrir d'autres disciplines pratiquées au Cadre Noir de Saumur.

We look on the site effectively it is noted Reservation recommended with just below online ticketing so I go on but no link for the guided tour alone but only for mornings and galas.
We therefore think that for visits no need since no other information.
We leave our campsite early to go to the Cadre Noir which closes at 13:30 for a last visit at 11:30.
Arrival on site we are refused entry because we have not booked.
