Overview
More
The Castle of the Dukes of Brittany houses the Nantes History Museum, displaying more than 850 historic objects with multimedia installations in a contemporary layout. The former ducal palace also holds temporary exhibitions and cultural events all year round. Besides, the rampart walk offers a number of viewpoints of the fortress. The night-time illuminations further reveal the architectural complexity of the site. A restaurant and a gift shop are as well at your service.

It was okay - Audio tour guide is a must and there is a lot to see - cafe/coffee seems to only work on hot sunny dry days - we visit on a dull drizzly day . Probably one of those places you see as...More

As my command of French is weak, I did not expect to learn and enjoy the museum as much as I did. We even went back a second day to see the rest of the exhibits. Buy the 20 euro pass that admits you to...More

This place is stunning! It cost €8 each and it was well worth it with 32 rooms to look in. Information in each room is in French, English and Spanish which was fantastic for us. The outside is absolutely beautiful and the tour continues there....More

Very beautiful castle with its moat transformed into park, in the heart of Nantes. we go there for architecture, for the ballad on the "path of the round", the history of Nantes but not for the inner rooms that offer little interest

Lovely place to take a stroll. We didn't go inside but enjoyed a free walk around the ramparts. Very informative stops at viewing points around the walk. The main toilets were closed but the little cafe was happy for us to use their faculties.

We spent hours on a visit to the museum and exhibition which was all fascinating. Plenty here to see and excellent portrayal of Nantes history. Staff were very helpful and the English translation guide was very good.

Hubby had wanted to see this chateau while we were in Nantes. After white knuckling the drive in, we were able to park in the parking lot across a grassy knoll from the chateau. It was lovely! There are books throughout the many rooms to...More
