Astronomical double faced clock

Beautiful clock face. You are able to climb the tower but we didn't on this occasion. The archway below the clock is very impressive with amazing sculptures.

You really can't miss the clock as you enter the archway along the main street toward the Cathedral. Be sure to stop and see the carvings along the top of the archway. Although we did not go up, I understand you can climb up to have a view of the surrounding area. It really is a beautiful clock...and as a... More

Beautiful and fascinating site - climb the winding stairs and see the clock from inside. Don't miss this amazing bit of history.

The clock is on both sides of the building, so please note as you walk under. The hands were missing but if there, they would not move. The numbers move around to note the time.

This mostly pedestrianized street is central to a visit to Rouen, as it houses, as is noted in its title, the Gros-Horlage, which I've written about elsewhere, the famous cathedral at one end and the church of St Joan at the other. In addition there are several lovely shops, some eateries, and a surprise or two, including a plaque (not... More

The Gros-Horloge clock is a short walk down a cobblestone street from the Notre Dame cathedral in Rouen. It is worth seeing if you are in the area. As you walk under the clock, note the beautiful detail of the ceiling underneath.

Easy town to enjoy. You can pay a visit to the tower of the Gros Horloge. There is a small charge but the view of the town looks stunning.

We walked around the historical centre with its cobbled streets in the evening after most of the shops were closed. The Gros Horloge is a very interesting clock above the walkway which is different on each side. Take the time to look up when you are standing under the clock. We didn't have any trouble from beggars as others have... More

If you really want to go to Rouen, do so! Lovely city with nice walkable sights. But if you're considering going out of your way to see Rouen, I'd advise you to reconsider or at least keep the stop short. Let me summarize: Cool old clock and cathedral, and LOTS of half-timbered buildings. Plague cemetery would be cool too (it... More

This attraction is located on a picturesque street that should be included on any walking tour of Rouen. It is in the open, so it does not take long to see it, but make sure to look at it both front and back -- it is different on each side.
