No, it’s Saint-Ouen Abbey Church, (pronounced owen), is a large Gothic Roman Catholic famous for both its architecture and its large, unaltered Cavaillé-Coll organ, which Charles-Marie Widor described as "a Michelangelo of an organ". Built on a similar scale to nearby Rouen Cathedral. The church...More

The church is huge. If you look at the ground plan how it was originally, or is even bigger. What power did the Abby exercise over the people and the City, enormous I imagine. Much of the building was destroyed during WWII, but rebuilt shortly...More

I saw this church while taking the audio historical walking tour offered by the tourist office (across from the left side of the cathedral). The church is pretty but very plain and I would not have come here on my own. I enjoyed its garden...More

With more space (including a park) around this cathedral, you can walk around it to better appreciate its gothic architecture. The cherry trees in bloom were a nice bonus. In places it is as intensively decorated as the Notre-Dame of Rouen, but other parts, e.g....More

I learned this place to be named l'Eglise de St. Ouen and it was described as flamboyant gothic church. Something to consider when setting priorities: I would not set this aside just because you were so enamored with Notre Dame Cathedral. Both should be seen....More

The abbey building is the only one that remained from the whole abbaye area. The building is huge, very beautiful and worthy to see - I actually liked it better than cathedral, partly because of the area: Cathedral is cramped between other buildings, while Abbey...More
