All the research, brochures, internet photo's cannot prepare you for the shock of actually visiting Honfleur. Last evening I walked around the corner close to the 'Hotel de Ville' (Town Hall) and was met with the most amazing sight. The Quay-side restaurants are simply full...More

I can't deny that certain aspects of this place are very picturesque- the shops, tall narrow town houses, old fortification walls, the old harbour and museums all tick the boxes of what should be a lovely location. However, what ruined it for me is the...More

A beautiful picturesque harbor with many fine yachts and boats moored to the docks. The harbor is surrounded with many restaurants, cafes and bars reflecting an old world charm. There is a carousel nearby. We enjoyed wandering through the streets near the harbor looking at...More

The old harbour is beautiful. It is a popular yacht-mooring place but even more, it is a very popular tourist 'trap'. Restaurants and shops which surround it can charge a premium.

This old port is simply perfect. After visiting is easy understand why so many artists painted it through the years.

Beautifully situated at the hart of the city with good bars around it. You can see old vessels, walk along the harbour and then jump into the old town. If you care for a drink, you will find many nice bars and terasses around it.

Lovely to stroll round, very picturesque, and plenty of small independent shops to browse and places to eat.

Although the weather was cold, being October, the harbour offers a picture postcard dip into French history. The buildings, cafes and church are a beautiful reminder of the past. When choosing a place to eat or drink, take care because service can be a little...More

Honfleur is oft painted and always revered; it prides itself on local beauty and preservation of its past. No wonder that some of the biggies in the art world history would come here to capture the moment. For us, we captured the moment in the...More

A visit to Honfleur is not complete without a walk around the basin. It is heavily touristed, but worth a walk around. Beautiful town.

Buzzing with excitement, beautiful lofty frontages on two sides with colourful awnings below stretching to the edge of the basin which is full of smart yachts and motor boats - ours was the pretty one on the visitors' pontoon for a couple of days, Tiger...More
