I was spellbound for five hours and didn't realise the time had passed so smoothly. Fantastic telling with films and pictures in French, German and English, brilliant. Explained in detail but without the usual yawn - didn't have time, so much to see. Need to go again really.

Start with the film - then go through the displays that lead up to the Second World War. Take your own water or you will have to buy a bottle - there are no water fountains. You will need at least 2-hours. Buy the combined ticket with Arromanche 360.

What I appreciated about this museum is that they did not focus solely on the 2nd WW, they explained also the linkage to the 1st WW and the consequences. There were many many movies. I think it was the most complex museum where it is possible to spent 4-5 hours .

This museum is built on the German bunker that controlled the area during The D-Day landings and after. There are good films and displays. There is a Typhoon hanging in the entrance foyer and an American tank downstairs. The drawback is that the English explaining the displays is so small and so low that you just give up trying to... The WWII Museum in Caen is one of the best I have been to. It provides a fair and detailed information about the war that was fought on all fronts. The exhibits are well organized and very informative.

The Memorial is a fitting reminder of the reasons why Europe went to war and which are eerily similar to our present day as regards the rise of extremism in Europe. The Memorial does not glamourise war and neither does it pull any punches as regards responsibility or turning a blind eye to the horrors of the war and there... More

This is really an outstanding museum of WW 2. It is very well organized and easy to navigate. It is quite comprehensive so may want to spend at the least two hours.

Like many of the historical memorials there is always so much sadness and poignancy. With so much to see and take in, knowing everything you are seeing was a reality in the past is sometimes very hard to comprehend. I loved this place because it was a journey through the years from before WW1 through to almost current day. Including... More

I enjoyed our visit to the museum. The exhibits were interesting and informative. I wish we had more time to spend there and maybe fewer kids on field trips who were loud, disrespectful, and always in the way.

Although one receptionist for groups was the personalised unfriendliness, demonstrating her power of wisdom in a rather arrogant way, the entire museum with its manifold subjects and exhibitions, its overall setup and the methodology of presentation is absolutely worth the visit. Consider more than 3 hours of visit, allowing you to get the majority of the messages.
