Stumbled upon this garden of remembrance while visiting the D Day museum, strolled around and was moved by the number of names of reporters commemorated there.

So many people fail to even pop into this wonderful memorial, even though droves go to the museum round the corner. It is poignant to see how many reporters died doing their job. What a brilliant way to remember them through this walkway of pillars....More

This sober reminder that members of the press are often put in harm's way to report the news is fittingly placed near the Museum of the Battle of Normandy. In addition to the reporters lost during WWII, there are markers leading up to today's conflicts....More

So often these people are forgotten so nice to see a memorial to them. No one else was looking around.

Good reminder that the Freedom of the Press is a freedom that costs many lives. Beautiful gardens. Worth the short stroll from the WWII museum across the street.

Memorials are all in chronological order and takes about 10 minutes or so to go through. Very beautiful garden area and nice to see some took the time to go erect these monuments.

The memorial garden for war correspondents is tasteful and respectful. I wish there was some kind of visitors' center with biographical data on those memorialized. Worth a visit.

Truly thought provoking memorial to those war correspondents killed whilst letting the world know. Each year seems to have greater and greater numbers killed, but I suspect this may be because of better information. 1954 records Robert Capa who was on the beaches on D-Day...More
