Whilst on a day trip to Bayeux, my family and I visited the museum of the Battle of Normandy. Entry is not free, but you can get multi-tickets that offer entry to multiple attraction is Bayeux. My ticket had entry to this and the Tapestry Museum, which cost 12 euro per adult. This museum was about a 10-15 minute walk... More

We had the chance to visit this musee. The tanks outside were just a taste of some of the historic artifacts inside. Our kids enjoyed seeing/touching the tanks/guns/vehicles as well as looking at the dioramas. If you had the time, reading all the information and historical content would give you a more well rounded experience. We could not do all... More

Nice place to visit if you are interested in WWII history. There were no specific information that you could not find in the internet though. Should have more items like diorama instead just map

The museum is a walk through affair with a 10-15 min film show. It was interesting but considering just up the road there is the biggest war cemetery in Europe there could have been an explanation of quite a few things like why this place was chosen.

As a family I feel like we've learned a lot about the Normandy landings whilst we've been on holiday. This museum is really good at explaining what went on and how. The video is excellent and the whole place is very detailed. The only thing I would like to have seen more of was some real life accounts from some... More

A really interesting museum, a lot of information and presented in a easy to read, audience capturing layout. One of the better museums with a lot of detail...we spent 2 hours here and needed to rush as it was closing (rooms close at 5.45), so make sure you leave yourself enough time. There's a film which takes 25 minutes which... More

If your travelling around Bayeux and interested in the history of WWII, this is a must see. Close by the cemetery, you need to allocate about 1-1.5 hours to fully see the museum. The museum offers a really great overview of the war, those involved and commanding parties, details of the battles fought, and the invasion into Normandy. This is... More

This museum was well laid out and provided an informative look before going on a tour of the landing beaches and sights. I especially liked the exhibit on the role of embedded journalists, as this is an area often overlooked in war museums. There's a short film that plays which is definitely not to be skipped.

A lot to see and read. With a small section on the French Resistance, pity there wasn't more on the Resistance as they payed a important part in the build up to , and during the Invasion. Very good.
