A striking cathedral which is kind of a surreal mixture of old Gothic and modern designs. The architecture is very much like 16th Century cathedrals but with elements from the 20th Century. Not everyone will like it, but I found it fascinating.

Kind of weird looking on the outside then standard cathedral on the inside. Nice choral music playing in the background

I find the building strange and cold from the outside, as well as some part inside, but that is what makes it attractive. The mix between modern and tradition is not to be seen very often in the region. On the side of the cathedral...More

From the outside it doesn't look like much but it is well worth stepping inside as it is stunning. It's a very large cathedral with beautiful organ pipes and gold trimming. A little difficult to find - we found it by chance in the end...More

I don't really know where to begin? The front built 30 years ago? The 200 year old Back? The pretty cottages? The pointless tower? The art exhibitions in the crypt? or the modern stain glass window? Odd.

This Cathedral does look a little off-putting from the outside with its modern look, but the inside of it has a more traditional look.I love the unique entry door/gate to the Cathedral, with sculpted design and figures interwoven around the framework and the door itself. The alabaster window/wall...More

Beautiful interior, half ancient, half modern. A very intriguing show currently exhibiting in the crypt—artistic responses to the Great War. Sacred—and not.

Don't be put off by the outside of the Cathedral! When you enter go to the right hand side and pick up a leaflet about the Cathedral as it has the layout, what was built when and tells you what the different areas are within...More

In facts not really worth the detour, but since Lille is a small city you will certainly pass by and it will not cost you much effort to have a look !
